  1. lou hated him; i don't think things would be any different if we'd kept wuertz. he'd just pitch at iowa or rot at the end of the pen.
  2. let's just issue 75 walks in a row and set an mlb record.
  3. God i hate cotts, please get us a real loogy hendry so we can get this bum off the team.
  4. guzman in the minors: 2.4 BB/9 IP. guzman in the majors: 4.7 BB/9 IP. i know a lot of that was back in the lost season of 2006, but i don't care how great your arm is, if you aren't throwing strikes you aren't going to cut it in the bigs. work on that.
  5. cool, here comes our LOOGY who isn't that good against LH hitters.
  6. angel needs to start throwing strikes in the majors like he did in the minors.
  7. a gift run after bases loaded and none out. it's like we're punishing mistake pitches when the bases are empty but once we're in prime scoring position, meatball changeups and fastballs just get fouled off.
  8. dammit he really should've done something with one of the first two pitches. the 0-1 pitch was a complete meatball.
  9. 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 5 K for archer. pretty much the same as last year - nice K rate, not a lot of hits allowed, but poor control. vitters isn't in the lineup; junior lake is 1-2 with a run scored and flaherty has a single and a walk. caridad so far: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K.
  10. a pair of 0-2 hits... dave bush sucks, about time we started beating this clown up.
  11. That's just what I was thinking. None of the 4 have really gotten a lot of headlines, but they are intriguing prospects who could move up very quickly with good seasons. McDaniel especially is a guy that if he shows something in the rotation could with his stuff be one of the Cubs best pitching prospects. Archer could as well, but he would have to cut down that absurd number of walks from last season. Coleman and Caridad seem to have lesser upsides but if they could repeat what they have done recently at their new levels they could be just fine as cheap options in the majors for awhile. i don't know much about mcdaniel, except that he had nice numbers (K-rate especially, and low BAA) as a reliever with boise. i guess the cubs must feel pretty good about him if they jumped him to daytona and put him in the rotation. his numbers are good so far tonight - 5.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K.
  12. another bad pitch missed. that's happening a lot.
  13. well it's not an error so the brewers announcers can keep saying braun is a good defensive player.
  14. And he's going to Opening Day now too... #-o Sorry guys! I'll have u know I'm 5-1 lifetime at miller park. Brewers fans are annoying. One just called me a sex offender for some reason. call him/her fat (i haven't seen them, just making a reasonable assumption)
  15. i don't know if lou has ever not sent the runner with a man on 1st and a 3-2 pitch.
  16. how many more ground balls are going to roll through the infield?
  17. letting little kids do batter introductions is a terrible, terrible thing.
