  1. nats are a robust 1-for-19 with runners in scoring position.
  2. I counted 10 LOB by Zimmerman Gameday has 14. yep. 2 in the first 0 in the third 3 in the 4th 2 in the 6th 1 in the 8th 3 in the 10th 3 in the 12th =14
  3. if this is accurate, zimmerman has broken the mlb record for runners left on base in a game. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/left_on_base_records.shtml
  4. papelbon is only 35? i feel like he's been around forever.
  5. hey pal, Jesus made exceptions for profanity, you're allowed to swear if you're frustrated during a sporting event. no exceptions about hating them gays, though.
  6. you've been around here long enough that this qualifier is unnecessary.
  7. i wouldn't mind these borderline pitches not being called as strikes if he weren't giving out shin-high strikes to ross and bryant.
  8. I would love to answer that, but I simply don't have any idea. What I do know is that he's super good, and we want guys that are super good. I'm hoping our front office isn't gonna be all, "well, we don't want to be THAT good". albert pujols was super good when he signed with the angels. would you like to be paying pujols $165 million for the next 6 years, or perhaps you prefer paying anthony rizzo at $100 million less to be a much better baseball player?
  9. what kind of contract do you think he will be looking for when he hits free agency?
  10. yeah he might do that when he becomes a free agent. before the 2019 season. at which point he will be 32 years old.
  11. i just thought he was annoying because he was brought in to play a role as utility infield guy, and then spent three months injuring his abs.
  12. i guess it sounds bad (especially to the meatball crowd), but it's really easy to concuss yourself or griffey your wrist if you go into that wall at full steam. he's way too valuable to hurt himself on a play like that.
  13. 90 wins for the season? screw that. 94-39 (.707) will result in 117 wins.
  14. why would you be friends with white sox and dodger fans
