exactly. it's a red herring to say that theriot is extremely average; he's only extremely average when compared to his very well-paid peers in major league baseball. as far as shortstops who play baseball, he's way way way above average, which is why he gets paid well.

they should beat the swiss (or belarus, i guess) and then it would be a very good game against either the czechs or finns. the canucks, ruskies and swedes are the three best teams IMO, so it's great that they're all on the other side of the draw. the downside is that if we lose to finland or the czech republic in the semis, then we'd very likely have sweden or canada/russia waiting for us in the bronze medal game.

unbelievable that russia or canada will be done after the quarterfinals. a lot of people thought they would meet in the gold medal game. then the winner of that game gets sweden, who is looking really strong. that side of the bracket is stacked. we probably get the swiss in the quarters, then the winner of that probably gets the finns or czechs. that side of the bracket is much easier.

yeah, they can't really say stuff like that on the air, but honestly, he's completely ridiculous. people who act over-the-top flamboyant are silly, as are people at the gym who need to make a spectacle of how straight they are by making comments about every girl's rack and what he'd like to do to her.

It's too bad Shuster had to [expletive] up so much in the first four matches. We should be at least 4-2 right now and probably 5-1, with an outside shot at 6-0. We should definitely be in contention for the medal round but instead, we're pretty much screwed. yeah we're not as bad as it seemed like after we were 0-4. what i don't understand is how we keep ending up in these situations in the 11th end. we've had the hammer every time and are 1-3, and it took a nice shot by jason smith to get that win. when you only need one point, shouldn't you just be clearing out the traffic every shot? instead we keep ending up with 30 rocks on the ice and trying to wind our way through them with the last rock.
