  1. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/sort/homeRuns/order/true mcgwire's "strength training" seems to be having an impact already!
  2. that is the silver lining. hopefully lou goes with him.
  3. yeah that seemed pretty odd. we definitely deserved to win that game; lundqvist stood on his head and we also hit the post/crossbar about 15 times. i didn't really care if we made it or not, but i'm sure the organization is happy they get a couple more sellouts. brodeur versus brian boucher might be the biggest goalie mismatch in playoff history.
  4. i wonder what mickelson would have shot if he did have to play out of the trees on half the holes. his iron play and short game were amazing today. i do think it's funny that the announcers stopped bitching at him for using the driver when he hit good drives with it on 15 and 17.
  5. amen to that. add gray to the list of guys in iowa who are probably better than some of the pitchers on the big club.
  6. it's like choi is playing a different game than the other three in the last two groups. choi keeps going fairway, green, one or two putt and everyone else wails their driver 30 yards into the woods and then tries to save par.
  7. well, that'll pretty much do it for couples.
  8. Just tied for the lead and with that tee shot from Phil he'll probably be the outright leader in a few minutes. mickelson's short game is great. if he could actually drive the ball in the fairway he'd be running away with this. this probably still sets up a little better for mickelson because he can pretty easily have eagle chances on 13 and 15... choi doesn't hit the ball quite as far. of course, the way mickelson is driving the ball he can be in the trees on those par 5's.
  9. lol mickelson is wandering through the woods again.
  10. choi never seems to hit a bad shot... maybe slow but steady will win the race?
  11. iowa continues to not hit for the most part, but most of their prospects are lousy, so it doesn't really matter. coleman had a pretty good start, 6 ip, 4 h, 3 r, 2 er, 0 bb, 4 k, 1 hr. daytona's bats woke up today: b. jackson - 2-4, 2 runs, 1 rbi, 2 bb, 2 k lemahieu - 3-6, 2b, 1 run, 1 rbi burke - 1-5, 1 run, 1 rbi, 1 bb, 1 k vitters - 3-5, 2 2b, 2 runs, 3 rbi pretty good outings for archer and searle: archer - 4 ip, 4 h, 2 er, 1 bb, 5 k, 1 hbp, 1/5 GO/FO searle - 4 ip, 3 h, 2 er, 1 bb, 4 k, 5/2 GO/FO
  12. 5 ip, 4 h, 4 r, 1 er, 2 bb, 8 k... his day is done.
  13. lee westwood must have a horseshoe up his butt... he's hit two trees in this round and both times the ball went forward and ended up in decent position.
  14. james russell's minor league stats hint: they're not good.
  15. But, OMG the next gm could be worse.!!!!!!!!!!one!!!!!!!!!!!111 Nobody's said that no matter how many times you pretend that someone has. Yes, in fact, many people have said that the next GM could be worse. You included. Considering the payroll Hendry had the past 3 years and the product it produced, I cant imigine the next one being worse. take a look at bill bavasi's track record and then get back to me.
  16. i'm not going to bitch too much; it's been a tight zone all day.
  17. http://www.stuffintheair.com/images/Train_Wreck.jpg
  18. wait you mean it's a bad idea to give almost $4m to lefties with mediocre stuff who have a career whip above 1.4?
  19. soriano and grablow seem intent on giving ricketts plenty of evidence to fire jim hendry.
  20. don't worry guys, this guy is making almost $4m as a middle reliever, so that means he should be very solid and reliable.
  21. i think i'd rather have hoffpauir than tracy.
  22. i really hope soriano decides baseball isn't his thing and voluntarily leaves baseball for another career after this season. or after this series.
