  1. yeah no kidding, it's not like bowden was having trouble blowing out bad i-aa teams. You serious, Clark? We WERE having problems with FCS teams, almost getting beat by Jax. St. last year and haven't covered the spread of more than 10 points against an unranked team in 3-4 years. This is the first time in a LONG TIME that we've been able to beat a team convincingly that we were supposed to beat that badly. It's one of the first times we've been able to get our 1st teamers off the field at the end of the first half and develop some depth. yes eddie, i am serious. jacksonville state is not a bad i-aa team - you may have noticed that they beat a i-a team yesterday. and if by LONG TIME you mean less than two years, then you're completely right, because this happened in 2008: Sat, Sep 6 Western Carolina W 69-0 Sat, Sep 13 Chattanooga W 46-7 those are bad i-aa teams. who bobby bowden-coached teams beat just two years ago. so i would hold off on pronouncements of "we're back baby!" until after you beat a team that's better than sanford.
  2. I wouldn't say never but in most years I agree. in most years everyone agrees, but there are years when LSU has two losses and plays for a championship, or utah runs the table and looks great while doing so, or boise state topples national power oklahoma. so why don't these teams deserve a shot?
  3. according to my friend, mark may said that no non-bcs school should ever play for a national championship. once again proving that mark may is a huge douchebag.
  4. man willie parker went from first round fantasy draft pick to cut in pre-season by another team in about 2 years.
  5. not watching the game but completing less than 50% of passes and 2 picks against [expletive] utah state would seem pretty damn bad.
  6. i suspect the chances of lsu retaining his services in 2011 are pretty much zero.
  7. What the hell happened to that program? They were never amazing but they've had some good years even within the past 10 years. Now they are one of the worst BCS conference teams I remember in a long time. yeah they beat texas in the 2003 holiday bowl and finished #9 in the country, and made a couple of rose bowls in the late '90s/early '00s. it seems like they were headed the right direction under mike price before he left to be alabama's coach for about 5 minutes. i would guess that part of the problem is recruiting against other pac 10 schools with big stadiums in beautiful locations with hot co-eds, and they're stuck in crappy pullman with a small stadium and probably a bunch of uggos.
  8. guyer was 3-3 with a double and 2 walks... also 3 runs scored, an RBI, 2 SB and 1 CS. brett jackson was 1-5 but hey, he only struck out once. canzler was 3-5 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI. cerda is 4-4 with 2 doubles. he's had a reasonably good year and has good patience, but needs to get stronger.
  9. okie state's running back had over 200 yards and 3 TDs in the first half. looks like wazzu is gonna have another stellar year.
  10. yeah i know a lot of people say that the doubles will turn into home runs as a player matures, but isn't that more for guys who have a slighter frame? butler is already kind of a load. unless he adds loft to his swing he's not going to add much power.
  11. KU football just isn't the same without angry gigantic mangino on the sidelines.
  12. well at least you can say you witnessed history!
  13. well you're going to be waiting some more, because searle started. and yeah there is no way that morla would get picked in the rule 5 draft.
  14. nope, still not getting that great post we've been promised.
  15. http://i.zdnet.com/blogs/nelson-muntz.gif
  16. oregon won 72-0, outgained new mexico 751-119 and ran two punts back for TDs. that is an ass whipping.
  17. the jeremiah masoli era is not off to a great start
  18. yeah as in, if they're ranked then they're way too high.
  19. yeah no kidding, it's not like bowden was having trouble blowing out bad i-aa teams.
  20. uconn is not a good passing team, so this is a good matchup for michigan.
  21. i thought i could count on NonProfitCow for a great post... just goes to show there's no truth in advertising any more.
  22. if it weren't for the cubs they'd be 9-49.
  23. fulmer cup final standings UNC looks like they're eager to get a jump on the 2010-11 trophy.
