for those who want to watch games online, you may be able to try the website firstrowsports.eu. they're televising rugby world cup games and there are also heaps of college fb and nfl games on there. ping pong and various beach volleyball matches also seem to be televised so i suspect they'll also have aussie rules until they get shut down. btw, next week's matches will be carlton at west coast (winner to face geelong) and sydney at hawthorn (winner to play collingwood).

so far so good - tennessee leads 7-1 and daytona is up 4-0. -
gameday had cashner hitting 96 to 100. also had samardzija at 95 to 99, so the gun may have been running just a little hot, but it's definitely nice to see cashner with that kind of velocity after not pitching most of the year.

searle sucked, allowing 4 runs in 2 innings, including a pair of home runs. tennessee has batted around in the 2nd inning to knock the opposing pitcher out of the game, scoring 6 runs. searle was lifted for a PH, presumably because the bases were loaded with 1 out and they were down 4-1. -
This. Brandon Phillips has fun playing baseball. Nyjer Morgan thinks he's a badass and can't even decently execute a terribly contrived alter ego. i guess nyjer morgan doesn't have fun playing baseball?

So you didn't see that Auburn needed to score 14 points in the last 2 minutes last week to Beat Utah St by 4? i did, but i just assumed that auburn had a bad game. guess they just aren't good.

what are you talking about? ricketts can contact everyone he wants, but they don't have to allow him to interview their employees. i'm pretty certain that if he asked to interview a sitting GM during the season, he'd be denied. if he'd "launched" hendry in july the situation would still be the same; he'd need an interim GM and he'd have to wait to interview guys who are likely among his top candidates. on a bad team, what is going to happen between august and november that is so important that you must have your replacement GM already?

i clearly haven't been paying enough attention to college football, because i about had a heart attack when i saw that mississippi st is a 6 point favorite at auburn. i guess auburn's entire 2010 team was seniors? and mississippi st is a lot better than usual?

jeez i hadn't noticed that about coello at all, i guess because his overall numbers were so mediocre. his second half numbers were terrific. the downside with him is that he'll turn 27 this offseason so if he's going to be a big-league pitcher, he'd better make it very soon (like next year) or it's probably just not gonna happen. -
