    in dunedin. and really, this is what happens when you schedule a baseball game for the time of day when it's most likely to get a thunderstorm, in the part of the country that is climatologically most likely to get a thunderstorm this time of year.

    .260 the last 7 days .252 the last 14 days .271 the last 28 days .276 for the season cubs have the lowest babip in baseball, but also the second-lowest LD% and the second-highest FB%, so it's not really surprising that their team babip is lousy.

    lol. looked like the rain cleared (based on the radar), but maybe the thunderstorm rendered the field unplayable. meanwhile it's clear as a bell in daytona.

    rofl i think it's hilarious that, even after everybody constantly ridiculed him for his atrocious grammar, spelling and logic, he makes a sock puppet and types out posts with the same fatal flaws, and uses that account only to defend his main one. what an idiot.

    yeah, that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. if his hit tool and power have a ceiling of 60, then he shouldn't be moving off of catcher this early to play corner outfield. i would think that a corner outfielder who doesn't project to have plus defense or plus speed should at least have a 60 hit/60 power combo, if you're aspiring for him to be a first-division regular. you don't draft a guy in the top 5 of a strong draft with the hope that he turns into trot nixon if everything breaks right.

    how about the other j baez in the system? jeffrey baez is hitting almost .300 at arizona and has 24 stolen bases in 27 attempts (42 games). got a $350k bonus in 2010 as a 16 year old.

    oh, 6 teams make the playoffs? i had pretty much given up on this league. although in my defense, i'm currently in the aussie rules fantasy football playoffs so that's been taking up my attention (true story)

    that's pretty bold to be pretty sure about a team selecting a 17 year old player who still has his senior year ahead of him, and we still don't know where the cubs will be picking.

    yeah, blackburn has been pretty bad aside from his first three starts. disappointing.

    shea stadium was 338 down the LF line and guerrero let fly from the front edge of the warning track, or about 15 feet in from the fence. looks to me like the throw hopped about 15 feet from home plate. so he threw the ball probably just over 300 feet in the air and right on top of home plate, so the catcher barely had to move. insane.

    someone give me the vlad guerrero laser from the RF corner to home plate when he was on the expos.

    that's basically the same K rate as last year, when he was regarded as one of the better prospects in baseball. the problem is that his walks are down and his power is down too. and while he's been lousy, he's also been incredibly unlucky too. i think his babip after tonight (0-3 with no strikeouts) is something like .125.
