  1. Yeah, well they were all good picks. T.O. in the third round, Westbrook in the 5th, and I believe the defense came in the 8th or 9th. I picked T.O. behind guys like Rudi Johnson, Drew Bennett and Reggie Wayne. Westbrook I nabbed after guys like Burleson, Moulds and Roy Williams had already been picked. The scrubs actually kept me in it.... Thomas Jones and Antowain Smith each gave me 14 points, and Stallworth gave me 10. On the downside, Antonio Gates was outscored 8-0 by my opponent's TE (Witten). So I'm down 6 points, with James and Vanderjagt going tonight, while my opponent has Reggie Wayne.
  2. I was just shocked to hear that Edmonds was arguing a called strike... the stress of the playoffs must be getting to him, because that's just so out of character for him.
  3. That's nice of you to congratulate the Red Sox on winning the World Series in 2004, but you're a little late. As for the White Sox, they didn't win anything... they already got knocked out of the playoffs. At least they did in my fantasy world in which I stopped paying attention to the playoffs last week.... lalalalalala not hearing or seeing anything about the Cards, White Sox or Astros in the playoffs, lalalalala
  4. Yes he is quite large. Sorry bout PSU Truffle. From what I hear it was a hell of a game; not to mention controversial from what I've read on hear. There schedule is pretty easy from here out though, right? Pretty good chance at winning the Big 10? The last game at Michigan State is worrisome. The other games (at Illinois, vs. Purdue, vs. Wisconsin) should be won. Yep, it's a 3 way tie for the Big 10 right now, but PSU still plays Wisconsin at home. The only thing that could screw things up is if both Penn State and Iowa win out (or win the same # of conference games) as they don't play eachother this season. As for the replayed PSU pass, A) It WAS incomplete and B) They should have ran to the line and spiked the ball to make sure the replay couldn't happen. That's poor coaching. The spots were definitely bad. But I don't think I ever thought "that is really going to cost us". Penn State went up 4 with 50 or so seconds to go, and just had to keep them out of the end zone. Didn't happen. No one to blame at that point but themselves. You're talking about the reviewed play that was overturned - they got the call right and I have no problem with that. The play I have a really big problem with was Michigan's 17 yard pass to Avant when his heel was clearly out of bounds on the replay. They had at least as much time to review that upstairs as they did with the Golden catch, and yet there was no booth review. That gave Michigan one-third of way towards a TD, and it wasn't merited. If you're going to use replay, then get it right. Otherwise, just scrap the whole system. Illinois fans, if they have good memories, can attest to the home-field advantage in Michigan. In 2000, with Illinois leading and driving for the upset, Illinois' Rocky Harvey lost the ball upon hitting the ground, but the play was ruled a fumble. The replays also showed that Harvey appeared to get the ball back, but it was awarded to Michigan anyway. Then on the resulting drive, Michigan's Anthony Thomas clearly fumbled the ball while still upright, but he was ruled down. It honestly was about the worst referee work I have ever seen. For whatever reason, most teams in the Big 10 can tell horror stories about the refereeing they've run into at the Big House. My predictions are for Penn State to lose to Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan State, and beat Purdont. That will probably put them in the Sun Bowl or Motor City bowl or something like that, and then they'll lose the bowl game.

Pretty good chance at winning the Big 10? at Illinois vs Wisconsin vs Purdont at Michigan State Apparently Derrick Williams' season may be over too. I don't think PSU recovers from this one - 1-3 the rest of the way, and then either blown out by a good opponent in a bowl game, or upset by a weak opponent.
  6. Holy crap, Kansas has the fattest coach I have ever seen.
  7. UCLA game is getting very interesting... Pac 10 defense is a joke. And speaking of jokes, how did Louisville blow a 17 point 4th quarter lead to a West Virginia team with a lousy offense? The entire Big East is garbage - can't wait to put huge confidence points in my college football bowl picks on whoever gets to play the Big East teams that qualify for bowls.
  8. Oh and there's a lot of speculation that Derrick Williams is done for a while after his late-game injury... if so, we'll be taking a big step back toward last year's joke of an offense.
  9. Normally I'd agree with your points... but, it is just as easy to say that it was Michigan's game to win. They were up 10 late in the third and gave up some big plays, up three with fourth down coming up and gave up the first; committed an obvious pass interference call to keep the drive alive and allow Penn State to score a TD. Sorry, but I just can't write off all the bad spots, plus the three obvious calls - the Hart fumble that wasn't called and that led to (I believe) the Michigan TD... if not that, then the go-ahead field goal. The out-of-bounds reception that wasn't reviewed, even though a close call less than a minute before was reviewed, to Michigan's advantage. Michigan picked up a third of the yardage that they needed on a play that should not have stood. And then, Lloyd Carr getting 2 more seconds on the clock that should not have been there. I hope you're right about Illinois, but I can see PSU going into a tailspin after losing a game like that. I'm guessing one of two things will happen - they'll rally around the tough loss and win out, or they'll collapse and go 1-4 the rest of the way. I'm hoping it's the former, but I doubt it.
  10. I need to go work out or something, I am so mad. I want to win, or failing that, lose fair or square. Losing the way Penn State did leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. God. Thankfully the Eagles are off tomorrow, I really can't take another kick in the nads right now.
  11. Welcome to playing Michigan in the Big House... it's 13 on 11, with the 12th man being the crowd and the 13th man being the referees. Joe should have known that getting replay wouldn't ensure fair officiating in the Big Ten. Somehow the replay managed to make it even more unfair, since only PSU's close plays got reviewed. it almost makes me want to hate Michigan more than Ohio State. I know at least two of the spots you're talking about - the one where they called Bradley for a sideline infraction, the guy was down a yard ahead of the first down. And on the play before Robinson got picked off, his pass should've been a first down by at least half a yard with forward momentum, but they spotted him a good yard and a half too far back. I'm pretty furious right now. Next year if our game is close with UM, the refs better bend over for us like they do for them in Ann Arbor.

Joe should have known that getting replay wouldn't ensure fair officiating in the Big Ten. By the way that makes Michigan two for two when it comes to gifts in home games against PSU. In 2002 replay showed Bryant Johnson got BOTH feet in that would've put PSU close to field goal range with a minute left, but he was ruled out.
  13. That way, they will be guaranteed to never win anything of importance, and will find the most excruciating ways possible to lose.
  14. I hate sports.
  15. I'm shaking right now, this game is killing me... please for the love of God, just one stop right here.
  16. WTF, where's the booth on that one? Dude's heel comes down out of bounds... ridiculous.
  17. Wow, pass interference called on third down, now UM needs 6 to win! God this game is nerve-racking.
  18. Never going to get any help from the refs in the Big House
  19. Sweet, Hart fumbles it away but is ruled down.
  20. And after 3 quarters of no scoring in Ann Arbor, a Pac 10 game is breaking out...
  21. OMG ZEMAITIS STEALS IT FROM HENNE! TD PSU! Edit - And Penn State botches the snap on the extra point, but the 5'7", 150 lb kicker picks it up and lowers his shoulder to make a 2 point conversion! 18-10!
  22. Oh man, huge run for Tony Hunt takes PSU down to the Michigan 2, and Robinson punches it in on third down! Should have a great ending coming up, tie ballgame.
  23. Aargh, PSU is outplaying scUM but due to two missed field goals and a turnover, it's 3-0 bad guys. Pretty good field position for the Wolverines.
  24. Thank you thank you thank you ABC for giving us Brad Nessler instead of Brent Musberger at the PSU-Michigan game. The late games on here are PSU-UM, USC-ND and LSU-Tenn. What a slate of games... and then of course on FoxSports Pittsburgh there's the end of the Miami-Temple matchup!
  25. Well, when you get blown out at home by Rutgers, I think that is the official sign that your team is not going too far.
