  1. I could see them beating the Vikings and Dallas (I believe that's who they play week 17) if Dallas has the #2 spot locked up and nothing more to gain or lose and therefore rest their starters. Well, Detroit hasn't beaten Minnesota since 2001, which doesn't bode well for their hopes to win that game. What's funny is that Calvin Johnson may be the best player in the 2007 draft, but Detroit just CANNOT take another WR in the first round. If they get the #1 overall pick and I were them, I'd trade down and try to just draft O-line, O-line, O-line. The Jets picked 2 first round OL and it's been very beneficial for them. The Lions have some talent on offense, but their line sucks. What I think they'll do, if they have the #1 pick, is pick Brady Quinn. If they do that, I hope they address their OL problems via free agency, or else Quinn would have a rough time there. Other thing to note is there are some really good OL out this year (Thomas from Wisconsin, Long from Michigan, Blalock from Texas, perhaps a guy from USC), and some bad teams with truly incompetent O-lines (Lions, Raiders, Cardinals).
  2. sorry I missed the past two weeks. Thanks a lot, Comcast.
  3. NSBB is just like elementary school! Agreed. And just think, last offseason everyone was going wild over some barely PG-13 photos of attractive women. This offseason, it's cookies and egg nog. Next year.....? well, I'm regressing to kindergarten, because it's naptime
  4. Can't say I'll be too upset when he inevitably gets injured.
  5. they'd probably win more if their CF didn't have a sub-600 OPS
  6. not good when your numbers are close to those of ronny cedeno
  7. yeah, at least bring in Penn or Princeton. Dartmouth is hideous, even for a minor-conference school.
  8. well despite their best efforts to choke the game away, Northwestern hung on to win.
  9. http://www.bt.no/multimedia/archive/00255/eric2_255928a.jpg he must have a really big bone in his ass!
  10. More support for my case: http://www.ljworld.com/photos/2004/07/22/Mangino2.jpg
  11. No way. Guys like your friend Toledo Tom there, Ralph Friedgen, Andy Reid and Rick Majerus, those are fat coaches. Mangino is in a whole other league. He may be the fattest man in sports!
  12. I just want Kansas to make a bowl game - only because their coach is a really bad fatty. http://media.kansan.com/img/photos/2005/09/11/mangino_t450.jpg so awesome!!!

  14. on the other hand, if winning is his first priority, he probably wouldn't sign with a team that hasn't won a World Series in 100 years.
  15. Is Truffle willing to give her up? hell no. not negotiable.
  16. Georgia Tech must not be that good. Penn State lost to Shippensburg (exhibition, but still) and Stony Brook already this year.
  17. I'm reporting that nobody really knows what the hell is going on. That's the most reliable report so far today.
  18. no, ESPN did not say that, they just reported the 3 year, $44M offer that was originally reported by a newspaper in SF.
  19. Well, the local guys from SF say it is.. I guess the point is, someone's wrong and someone's right. Who the hell knows.
  20. You out rebounded us and had to come from behind but couldn't quite make it over the hump. Willard was pretty pleased that Syracuse would play him as they have had a tough time getting the "big" schools to play them since they've done pretty well in the NCAA's. I think you guys will do quite well. Yeah, we haven't gotten many games against the big conferences recently. Usually BC, because it's a rivalry (or at least was a rivalry, once upon a time). This year we have only two real tough non-conference games, Syracuse and Duke, and a few other competitive ones. I'm sure it was a good experience for the team. HC has rebounded all of their opponents this year, which was surprising to me. I read Willard's website, and one of the things he was really harsh about was the team's softness early in the year. He also wrote this the other day, which I thought was kind of neat:
  21. darn, the Music City bowl just doesn't feel the same without Minnesota
  22. damn right they have it... I stock up on those frequently. I vote Totino's because it's frozen pizza and I know it's not gonna be great, so might as well go cheap. Totino's and a salad can be a nice $1.50 dinner.
  23. probably plenty... they only spent $7-8M today, I think.
  24. not really, unless the Cubs interest in him turns out to be false. If he's willing to leave the West Coast, the Cubs should be able to outbid the Cards for him. I don't see why the Cards want him anyway - just sign guys like Kip Wells or whoever off the scrap heap, and turn them into good pitchers.
