  1. So, 1 fantastic game, 2 great games, a decent game, and 2 bad games against good defenses. Curious what that averages out to overall, but Brady Quinn wasn't the reason ND looked bad in 3 games this year. There are college football QB ratings, not NFL QB ratings. Other games in 2006: Michigan State: 113.3 Purdue: 117.9 Stanford: 116.0 Navy: 150.8 UNC: 136.1 Air Force: 148.5 Army: 112.9
  2. or maybe if he played well against good teams he wouldn't be bashed so much either Which big games are you referring to? QB rating against good defenses: Ga Tech: 79.5 Penn State: 120.9 Michigan: 58.9 UCLA: 95 USC: 90.4 LSU: 50.7
  3. or maybe if he played well against good teams he wouldn't be bashed so much either Quinn was the reason Notre Dame was even in most of their games. There wasn't a lot of talent there. Just my opinion. I think they had talent on the offensive side of the ball... on defense, not so much.

  5. now that's a good list
  6. i hear hank greenberg is a free agent
  7. I have heard the same thing. From what I hear, Calvin and Russel both wanted 15% more than Williams got last year, and Quinn would take a lot less, close to what was paid last year for Williams. From what I've been hearing, the Raiders gave Quinn an offer that would be considered a low-ball offer for a 1st overall pick but would be better than what he'd get in the 7-9 range. If true, it is a smart move on the Raiders part. except for the part about DRAFTING BRADY QUINN
  8. Wow, AAA? Well, if you're going to send him to AA what are you going to send Cedeno to, rookie ball? I don't know about you, but I'd send Ronny to O'Hare to pick up ARod. Are the Yankees playing the White Sox?
  9. Not just the Cubs, any team could have taken him in the Rule 5 draft this year. There just isn't much interest in him. regardless, he's better than cedeno
  10. Don't look at me. If I had any baseball intelligence, I'd be posting about the Pens here. I root for a team that hans had a winning record in 14 seasons. you're on a message board of a team that hasn't won a championship in 100 years. Now that is stupid. 98 1/2 Okay well I'm skipping ahead to the end of next season... going out on a limb and assuming that this bunch of losers that Jim Hendry has assembled will not win the World Series in 2007 or 2008
  11. So when exactly is it that hits are meaningless? Do you have proof of this? Quite frankly thats just a ridiculous comment. yeah, "saber heads" aren't going to help you much with that one
  12. -doesn't have great tools -too many walks
  13. no and yes. "Eyre will earn $3 million in 2006, and $4 million in each of the following two years. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus, and a no-trade clause and the third year is the player's option. Other incentives in the deal could add another $2.4 million over the three years." Good Lord what a horrendous deal. Thanks Jim.

  16. cubs win... ahahaha just kidding marquis probably gets shelled
  17. Seriously, who didn't see this coming? Cardinals sign no big-name free agents and put a mediocre relief pitcher and a mediocre pitcher coming off surgery. Didn't we all know that these scrubs would turn out great?
  18. I <3 conventional baseball wisdom
  19. Adam LaRoche (hitting under .100) puts a bleeder through the left side with the bases loaded and two outs... Monroe, Louisiana's favorite team loses in the 16th.
  20. before TJ surgery, injuries used to be worse as you moved down the arm - an elbow injury was basically the death knell of a pitcher's career. With TJ surgery now commonplace, pitchers are probably least likely to return from shoulder surgery. I know Trevor Hoffman and Bret Saberhagen are two guys who were able to return to form. Unfortunately, it's very hard for pitchers to come back from labrum surgery, because the labrum cannot be rebuilt.
  21. That's high class. we've outed a yankee fan Who said I was a Yankees fan? Because someone made a stupid comment and I comment about that comment makes me a Yankees fan? Please. okay I live with a Yankee fan and am friends with two others. It was a joke. Smile.
  22. it's not wrong, as long as you love eckstein for the same reasons
