uh, I don't think NFL teams have a vendetta against a particular college. that'd be pretty stupid. maybe people just didn't think he was that good, or didn't need a quarterback.

FWIW, this was my attitude in 2002 when the Eagles already had one of the best secondaries in the league with Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent at starting CB, Al Harris at nickel and Brian Dawkins at free safety. The Eagles picked CB Lito Sheppard, CB Sheldon Brown and S Michael Lewis with their three picks in the top two rounds. A couple of years later, they cut Taylor and Vincent loose, and those guys dropped off pretty sharply in ability. Meanwhile, Sheppard and Brown are Pro Bowl caliber players, and Lewis was until he completely forgot how to play football this past year. The point is, if the Bears think guys are getting up there in age, it's worth thinking ahead to the future. And at the very worst, you aren't going to waste picks at CB and DE. If a guy is a good player, he'll get on the field.

DE isn't a two-player position. The Eagles rotate two entire defensive lines. Obviously the Bears like this guy enough to think he can fit into a DE rotation with the guys they already have.

oh wait bears are up... i'll watch a bit longer. Jason Hill, Trent Edwards, Tony Hunt, Brandon Siler, Buster Davis... maybe an offensive fatty too? Could go a lot of directions here.

Maybe they were thinking that Turner would be traded and a backup was needed? who knows. Wonder why they didn't grab Olsen, maybe they could use a TE too.

I like how the NFL network listed RB as a need for the Chargers. WTF?!?!?

Beason, Jarrett and Kalil... really like the draft they're having. Them and the Browns are the two best IMO.

Tarrell Brown will be a real steal for whoever takes him. He's got some marijuana problems, but he outplayed Aaron Ross this past year. Ricky williams had some marijuana problems too...

I think both trades were good for both teams... Brady Quinn was a shocker at #22 and Eric Wright is a big talent. Cleveland got some great value out of those picks, and the Cowboys amassed a number of picks.

yeah seriously... I'm definitely a browns fan this year (mostly because I don't want the Cowboys to have a top 10 pick from the Browns in 2008)
