  1. way to give gonzalez and young away for nothing texas... not to mention the classic deal of hafner for einar diaz. No wonder you guys suck ass.
  2. none of those other guys at the top have ever won a major...tiger wins going away i'd still give furyk a shot, but yeah tiger is a heavy favorite at this point
  3. ugh lifehouse and the goo goo dolls? shoot me now.
  4. only took baddeley one hole to piss away his lead... he'll end up +10 or worse
  5. another dog crap inning from a dog crap lineup
  6. cubs probably couldn't score 5 runs in a week... this one's in the bag.
  7. i miss the good ol days when derrek lee hit home runs
  8. Then why didn't Maddux give them the lowdown on Zambrano? They were both on the same team for quite a while, and nobody could hit him yesterday. Because Hill isn't in the same league as Z. Sure he is, but they have a different repertoire. Z is mostly hard stuff, with a heavy sink when he's on. Hill throws two very different pitches and relies on keeping hitters off balance.
  9. Hill has had a few meltdown starts in which he has given up multiple homeruns, that just seems like a part of who he is as a pitcher right now, vulnerable to the long ball. He might be tipping his pitches, but you can't say that for sure. he threw a first pitch curve to cameron, not a bad pitch, and cameron was just sitting on it. The Pads are either stealing signs or know something that no other team does. I wish that Hill was pitching tomorrow against a different team. It wasn't a terrible pitch, but it looked like a curveball that stayed high in the zone, something that can be vulnerable to being hit hard. Maybe they know something, but isn't it possible that he is just having a bad start? his location isn't great, but he's thrown several good pitches in his two starts against the pads that have been hit hard. If the other team knows that a curve or a fastball is coming, they're going to wail away on the pitcher. Cameron isn't the type of hitter who sits on a first pitch curve, and he's not a particularly good breaking-ball hitter. I'd just take him out at this point because it's obvious that the Padres know something.
  10. no way, man. He's not pitching for the Cubs any more :( plus he's pitching against the cubs

  12. what a joke... there's no way the padres don't know what's coming. Nobody else can hit Hill, and Cameron just sat on a curveball on the first pitch.
  13. gonna have to do a lot of that today (go the other way on the outside corner fastball) why steal on maddux here, brenly? rich hill can't hit.
  14. He does. I remember a number of opp shots by Jones last season. a guy with tremendous any-sort-of-power should have more than 25 homers a year.
  15. lmao brenly just said jones has "tremendous opposite field power"
  16. the wind is really blowing in? that was a poke off the end of the bat by a weak-hitting catcher, and it made it to the warning track
  17. that was even a good pitch that headley hit... what do the padres know that other teams don't?
  18. there's no question he'd hurt himself immediately upon coming to the cubs. It'd be Nomar v2.0.
  19. Pie's SB% in the minors has been pretty lousy
  20. probably has something to do with him pitching against the cubs offense
