  1. Dude he is gonna maybe hit 10 homers this year. Maybe. it was a jab at the people who sarcastically posted "i'm really worried about d-lee's power" when he hit a homer earlier this year. They were implying that we were being ridiculous to worry about his power outage. Those people don't make the same comments any more.
  2. whatever von joshua has taught ronnie is working... he knows how to rake at iowa, that's for sure.
  3. yovani gallardo has a no hitter going thru four, hopefully he doesn't lose it
  4. You do realize that Brenly and Len are doing the game on WGN, right? yeah unfortunately i don't have wgn
  5. i've been watching the game for 5 minutes, and already i cannot stand hawk harrelson. His voice even makes me angry.
  6. last year I don't think people liked Wisconsin that much on paper. This year, people realize that the badgers are really good. They should be better than OSU and probably the 2nd best team in the conference, and one of the 10 best teams in the nation.
  7. bottom line - more playing time for jock jones!
  8. i will always be a jon lieber fan. He pitched great in one of the two games I've ever seen at Wrigley (8-7 win over the Pads in 2002).
  9. Coats homers to right after a Murton walk, it's now 7-0. Chris George is getting beaten up on; Iowa is 7-14 as a team with one walk, and Patterson didn't miss a homer by much either. Top of the lineup (Patterson, Cedeno, Hoffpauir, Murton, Coats) is 7-9 with a walk, plus all the runs and RBI.
  10. barf, patterson flies way-out to CF. Stupid Iowa field dimensions.
  11. hey look at that, an NL central rival beating up on the hapless royals. I think I've seen this one before.
  12. No team should be allowed to get through the Big Ten schedule in a year without playing at least one of OSU and UM. Those two are most consistently good teams in the Big Ten. To give any team a chance to play a full season without facing one of them is unfair.
  13. Is there another Sean Marshall in our system that is really, really good that I'm not aware of? Hill for Wood would be more like it...and if that's the case, bye Rich. Marshall wouldn't come close to getting Brandon Wood. I'm not sure Hill would either. angels would deal Wood for Hill before blinking an eye. Imagine a rotation of Lackey, Escobar, Colon, Hill and Weaver, with K-Rod as closer and Shields and Santana setting up? Good night.
  14. Guzman has begun to throw again in Ariz. I am guessing that the Cubs would get Marmol into the rotation and put Guzman back in the pen when he is healthy enough. haha Marshall and Guzman in the rotation... i think we already tried that in 2004-05 with wood and prior
  15. For about a year now, Hill been pitching like a solid #2 or borderline #1 at the big league level. He's been durable (knock on wood); Sean Marshall has been fragile. It's not even close.
  16. Patterson had a single to CF, Ronny a bunt single.... Murton seems to be showing a nice approach (5 BB, 2 K) so far. It's nice seeing him in there every day too... hopefully this gives him back his confidence and rhythm, and the Cubs actually realize that they had a good young player all along. Coats singles in two, it's now 3-0 I-Cobs. No Soto in the lineup tonight :x
  17. so when is it our turn to play the royals?
  18. drop carlos lee, add prince fielder
