  1. the cards' offense is pretty [expletive] bad.
  2. honestly i have no idea how you guys have the energy to still be at all wrapped up in the outcome of these games. that's not a criticism or anything. i'm over here giving myself credit for even watching i'm still holding out hope that the pirates can miraculously overtake the cards for the division. plus it's the cardinals so [expletive] them, they deserve to lose.
  3. it's annoying that this is a one-run ballgame. lackey was lousy and fortunate that a lot of line drives ended up finding gloves.
  4. Looks like he could be Da Bum's dad. hahaha glad i'm not the only one who saw this.
  5. Would be pretty rad if one of Baez, Alcantara and Soler would have a plate appearance that doesn't end in a strikeout.
  6. it's also funny that his "worst statistical year" still involves an OPS near .950 and a fWAR around 8.
  7. dodgers are paying brian wilson $10m to be a replacement-level reliever.
  8. why would everyone want the cubs? obviously the minor league system has been tops in terms of talent this season, but most of those guys are in tennessee, iowa or chicago by now. is it because the organization is really committing to investing money in the minor league system as a whole, and continuing to do so for the long term? is it because of the large fan base and some of those fans being passionate about the player development system? just curious why the cubs seem to be so appealing to minor league affiliates, and if this is a new trend.

  10. holy hell, 56-0 in the third quarter?!? you see beat-downs like this in college football when a top 5 team is playing a terrible i-aa team, but this hardly ever happens in the NFL. nice work tampa bay.
  11. also, logan watkins seems to be remembering that he is logan watkins.
  12. eugene would be pretty good, i think. ballpark should be nice.
  13. paco rodriguez sounds like a name that some white guy made up for a generic mexican person.
  14. soler continues to look extremely polished for a 22 year old having his first crack at major league pitching.
  15. i have a hard time believing that lowell won't end up with the red sox again. pretty surprising that this wasn't done already.

  17. that is extremely embarrassing.
  18. congrats to arrieta on the CG SO and eat a D brandon phillips
  19. i'm guessing belt high fastball was not the intention for that 0-2 pitch. and lol at brandon phillips, what a d-bag.
  20. hopefully the reds do him a solid and just take pitches right down the middle for the rest of the game.
  21. Len said something about them giving him extra rope to get out of it because he wants 20 wins or something? so even if he'd gotten out of it, he probably would have been done after that inning, meaning that the reds would have had to score 4 runs in the bottom of the inning for him to have a chance at the win. seems... rather unlikely. Well no they are at wrigley, so the reds would have had to score 4 runs and Cueto would have had to face an additional batter in the bottom of the 7th. Keep in mind it was only 2-0 when he said that. nah, they would've just had to take the lead with cueto still in the game. if the reds went up 3-2 or 4-3 in the top of the 7th with cueto having finished the 6th, cueto would've stood to get the win.
