    because we have been playing .500 baseball with our current roster for the last 2 months? It was a hot streak. It got them back into contention, but to think they will sustain +.650 baseball the rest of the year is really pushing it. They havent even been over 8 games above .500 The team has to many weaknesses to sustain playing at that level for a 2-3 month timeframe. I really consider it more of a reach to think they will play .500 ball the rest of the way. Do you realize just how weak the schedule is the rest of the way? The Cubs will make the playoffs and lose in the 1st round....UNLESS WE GET ANOTHER FRICKIN' BAT. thank you very much boy you're pretty good, to know that the cubs will lose to an unidentified team in a series of only five games.

    i think they might the playoffs if they play soto most of the time at C, and murton most of the time in RF. But since they're dumb, they won't do those things.

    farm out cedeno, call up scott moore... he at least has some value with his bat. Fontenot would be a bad SS, but he can at least back up there.

    Unless you let Howard kill you, their offense is hardly unstoppable, especially with Utley out of the lineup. burrell kills us, rowand kills us, iguchi always hits well against us, and it appears that rollins is going to be a tough out against us, too. i can remember the merry go round of slugging in that first series that the phils laid on us, i can't see it stopping now. .730 OPS against the cubs coming into this game... not exactly killing us
