see here's the thing. Some people look at just one game. And then others, like myself, look at how the player has performed during the entire year. Sean Marshall pitched terribly today. Nobody's arguing that fact. However, coming into this game he had a 144 ERA+ (though he's been lucky) and a 1.25 WHIP, which makes him an asset to the ballclub. Meanwhile, Jacque has a 68 OPS+ (!!!) and two homers in about 300 ABs. Combined with mediocre (at best) defense and lousy baserunning, make him a detriment to the team. So I'll stick up for Marshall despit the lousy performance, and I'll pound on Jock despite what was (at least for him) a really good game.
