Cubs are 1st in SLG, 2nd in BA, and 9th in OBP, and 5th in runs in the NL. The offense isn't bad, it is streaky. Compare that with the pitching, which in 9th in runs allowed. We also could stand to take a few more walks. That is always true, but they are about average at getting on base, and clearly capable of scoring. I don't know if a higher OBP will fix the streakiness. To do that, they need to be a little more luck in key situations and execute when it is necessary. Higher OBP will fix the problems the offense has. Get more guys on base=score more runs. 9th in OBP for a $100 mil team is pathetic.
