    I don't see how 2B is even a priority unless he is also capable of hitting in the 3-hole. If the 2B we're looking to get isn't Chase Utley, this team has a couple of other position of greater importance.

    I don't believe Lee is a #3 hitter anymore, and he never really was with the exception of 2005. Rather than spending a ton of money on Furcal, I'd rather use it towards signing or trading for a big bat who can play an OF position. Move Fukudome over to CF if necessary. Although, I do agree that Soriano does not belong in the leadoff spot. I hope Piniella/Hendry realize this. Also, if you don't bring back Dempster, you need to at least sign another #2 starter to replace him. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, Hill and Samardzija can't be relied upon. The fact that Dempster waited until the final year of his contract to put up the kind of numbers he did, makes me weary of signing him.

    Why? That's a disappointment waiting to happen I would rather add someone to hit behind Ramirez, where Dunn should be used as a #2 hitter. Griffey would be a better hitter behind Aramis, so thats who I would rather have. In what world should a guy who hits 40 homers every year and can't do anything a number two hitter is supposed to do hit second instead of fourth? In the world of .377 career OBPs. I actually like Dunn hitting 3rd though.

    I thought it was pretty obvious that the blood was fake when I first saw it. I would assume he'd be wearing a bandage after his ankle was stitched up, which means that the blood would have to seep all the way through the bandage after a popped stitch. I just don't see it.

    As much as I don't like Izturis in the 2 hole, I wouldn't like Izturis and Blanco back-to-back either. Having Murton towards the bottom will ensure more RBI chances for Z. :D

    Cubs are stacked in the bullpen. They don't need more bullpen arms. I would be very cautious dealing Marshall. Not too many 6'7 left-handers can throw with control. I love how he keeps himself cool and calm under pressure. First: Just because the Cubs are "stacked in the bullpen" doesn't mean the Cubs bullpen is any good. Outside of Howry/Erye/Ohman, the Cubs bullpen is full of ??? and crappy pitchers. So I think the upside of Wagner is greater then that of guys like Novoa/Wuertz, etc. And I like Marshall, but if the Cubs can fill two needs with one stone, then you do it. Marshall may never be anything more then a 4/5 starter in the majors, and those are expendable. Isn't that the way most bullpens are? You really only need 3 good relievers.
