the cubs are tied for the second-fewest offensive strikeouts in the national league. it surprised me, so i thought i'd throw that out there for those who lament all our strikeouts.

at the same time, they are 7th (or 8th, can't remember) in runs scored, though if they were at their RC total of 630, they'd be 3rd. they only team i noticed on the good side of their RC was the cards, for what it's worth.

it's late

Here's a fun one:

AL Strikeouts (Rank/Team)

1/Texas

2/Cleveland

3/Boston

AL Runs Scored (Rank/Team)

1/Boston

2/Texas

t4/Cleveland

If you plot runs against strikeouts in the game, you get no correlation. Strikeouts and it's effect on offensive production are the biggest myth in the game.
