Who knew? Now, Brandron Morrow has 6 for the Mariners so Aardsma is not really the "closer". However, tonight he closed out a 5-4 game in the 9th against the Red Sox, no easy task. Also he has a 1.53 ERA. If only...

I don't lament his loss that much. He's been pretty bad in his career and he still has a crapload of walks which doesn't bode well for his future. He does have good stuff and strikesout batters pretty well. I don't think his low ERA is going to keep up, he's young though so maybe he's coming into his own as a pitcher.

Guess you didn't see the highlights... he was about 5 inches away from blowing the game.

 

Bay flew out to the wall with 2 outs and a guy on.

 

Not really a save to write home about.

He also started out the year pretty amazingly with the White Sox right after the Cubs traded him, didn't he?
