...didn't say anything Earth shattering, but there were some things that were pretty clear to me:

 

* Cubs are not persuing Brian Roberts. Said the Cubs went down that road and the Orioles made it pretty clear that they weren't letting him go.

 

* I did not hear any mention of Jake Peavy. Either it is truly a dead issue, or he made it clear he wouldn't discuss the issue b/c the Cubs/Padres are in discussions. Think about it.

 

* Mentioned the Cubs are going to go with Miles/Fontenot at 2nd Base.

 

* Is pretty confident that the Cubs will pick up another OF bat.
