This is a sad day for Cubs fans as a whole, but especially those of us that fell in love with the Cubs in the 90's. Although his Hall of Fame chances are slim barring a great career as a closer, Wood will be seen by many in the same light as Sandberg, Banks, Santo and all other Cubs greats. He was the face of the organization hurt or not, and from what I understand poured his heart and sole into the city of Chicago.

Kerry you will be missed by all and good luck with your new team as long as you aren't playing the Cubs... Hendry, this is the WORST move you've made as a GM.

Kerry, meet Grace... you guys will live on in the hearts of fans no matter how much you hate our disfunctional organization.
