I'm just posting to make sure I'm not crazy. I have Russell Martin already on my team, and my starting pitching has already lost Pedro, Gallardo, Hill, and Smoltz. I still have Peavy, Lincecum, Jered Weaver, and I just picked up Adam Wainwright and Volquez. Would it be smart to trade for Verlander, stick him on my bench for a month, and hope he returns to the form of last year rather than keep Soto?

My guess is that it's a smart move, but something is holding me back, so I thought I'd ask.

Soto's an offensive force at a position where there isn't much offense. If you're going to trade Soto, trade him for someone who is doing good right now, and you know will continue to be good. Soto's value >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Justin Verlander's value right now, and in the long run, will likely be worth more at the end of the season too. You'd be giving up way too much. Verlander is good, but he sure sucks right now. You should be able to trade Russell Martin for him instead of Soto, that's how bad Verlander is right now. Soto is the #1 catcher in Fantasy Baseball right now and it's not even really close, and you'd be giving him up for a pitcher who had ace stuff the last few years but is struggling big time right now and hasn't shown signs of coming out of the funk. Don't do it
