Dopirak D'FA / Wade Miller put on waivers

When Dopirak was drafted, I remember all the scouts saying he either would turn into a 40 home run a year hitter or flame out in AA. Looks like they pegged him perfectly.

 

Just out of curiosity, do we have several of the same scouts as we did years ago or have we had some turnover. I'm asking because I'm wondering if we have the same scouts that swore guys like Dubois, Kelton, Montanez, et al would be very good major leaguers or if many are gone now.

 

Now that the Cubs are in year two with Wilken, there should be some turnover at least from the Stockstill days.

yeah...i saw him play today in clearwater...it was my first cubs game!!!

 

they lost 6-2

 

the team is not very good...i got a chopper foul ball though...so that was cool...

 

however, dopirak did make a great hustle play on a pop to the dugout...he fell over the railing trying to make the catch, but he didn't hang on to it...

 

oh well...i was kind of shocked to see him in the lineup...i didn't know he had cleared assignment...
