Alright. So I feel a bit stupid for asking, but figured I'd get the advice of a few others. I'm in a six team head to head Y! league and set at all my major positions. Through some strange occurance, I ended up with the following pitching staff:

SP:

Chris Carpenter

Matt Cain

Dan Haren

Ervin Santana

Mike Mussina

RP:

Billy Wagner

Huston Street

Trevor Hoffman

Chad Cordero

A buddy of mine is offering my Justin Verlander, Dontrelle Willis, and Jacque Jones (as filler) for Hoffman, Street, and Mussina. Am I smart to accept that trade, given my relative derth of starting pitching?

I wouldn't make it. I don't think it's smart to get rid of half your closers, and considering you have a 6 team league, I would think each team should have 4-5 closers. That being said, I'd check the waiver wire to add pitching. You should be able to add dependable 150+ strikeout guys with slightly higher ERA (3.75-4.1), because your four closers should keep the overall team ERA down.

Well, the stats in my league are W, S, Ks, ERA and WHIP. I feel as though starters are as a result of more value since they are more likely to provide wins and strikeouts as compared to just saves. Anyone else feel that way?

If your strategy is to hoard SP to accumulate W and K thats fine. My whole point was that I didn't feel it was worth giving up 2 quality closers for two SPs who aren't top tier fantasy players. Considering you have a 6 team league, unless each team is hoarding SPs, there should be pitchers comparable to Verlander and Willis (if not slightly lower quality) who you could obtain without giving up much value.
