i don't understand why we'd want to overpay for carlos lee or vernon wells when jim edmonds will be availabel, probably, and he'll be much cheaper and more productive over the next 2 seasons, i'll wager.

I think the Cards will either pick up his option or restructure his contract. I seriously doubt Edmonds will be on the market.

when's the last time that he played in less than 137 games?

He'd need to play in 35 of the last 37 games in order to make this amount of games. Try again.

try again? you should try again in proving that he's somehow an injury waiting to happen, i don't see a pattern.

The dude can't even play 9 innings of baseball without getting dizzy right now. He took BP for 10 minutes yesterday and walked off the field cause he couldn't see the baseball. The more I think about it, the worse the idea of signing Edmonds sounds.

Why does there need to be a career trend to be concerned about his health status for next season?

You're reaching.

i think it's reaching to assume he's going to take his concussion problems into next season.

Why in the world would we want edmunds who is the epitome of a Cubs hater? No way do I want him here, no way.

i'll take anyone who's good, and i don't know why he's perceived as a "cubs hater". cubs fans don't like him, but i don't see a reciprocation.

I don't want him because he's old, fragile and in a clear decline.

If they could sign him cheaply for one season, I'd have some interest, but that's about it.

i'd take him for a year with a vesting option for a second, based on PA's and starts in center.

that's all i'm saying.
