How many different wierd ways can our pitchers tweak/strain/hurt/etc. themselves.

Carlos Zambrano was lucky to be pitching Wednesday. He apparently slept on his right shoulder, and was questionable for his start because of stiffness.

When I think of the number of times I've had shoulder/wrist/elbow injuries from weird/random things that might have kept me from pitching, I'm not surprised.

Hmmm...it couldn't be because he threw 117 and 124 pitches in his previous outings, could it? Given the extent to which this team goes to hide injuries, and their reluctance to accept any pitch-count related injuries, it wouldn't surprise me to see them lying about this.

He'll need to consult with Kerry Wood about how to avoid injuring oneself while sleeping.

 

This conjures up memories of Wood having a bad back in Pittsburgh because the hotel beds were too soft and the team FORGOT to bring the bed board on the road trip. #-o

Actually, not that unusual. I had to have my shoulder scoped just because I slept on it wrong one night. I was perfectly fine one day and couldn't lift more than about 60% of my max on a bench press until after I got it fixed.
