  1. Nice move by Grossman to escape the safety and follows up with a terrible throw.
  2. I'm getting so sick of Orton's antics.
  3. Pretty cool intro for the teams on ESPN.
  4. And Mike Brown is out too right?
  5. The wait is almost as bad as when the team has a bye week. Let's get it going! :)
  6. If our defense was healthy I would say the Bears would win but the fact that we got dominated bad last week and key injuries to our safeties which is huge I hate to say it but with the running game ATL has I think they will win. Good thing Minnesota lost earlier.
  7. If healthy, the Dodgers will have a pretty good offense.
  8. I was reading a Sports Weekly today and they shadowed Jim Hendry during the Winter Meetings. They asked him about the Dontrelle Willis trade. He said that the Marlins hadn't scouted him in years. He also said that you can't be afraid to pull the trigger. He immediately followed that up by saying that he learned never to trade left-handed starters with good makeup. Go figure. Wonder what that says about Renyel Pinto? Ha, good point.
  9. I would hate to see Guzman go but realistically with all his injuries we might hold on to him and he might not do anything for us. I think this would be a good deal for both teams and the trade has risks involved on both sides with high rewards. EDIT: And for the record Huff is probably the best realistic option for us. We get Huff and I'll be happy.
  10. I dont know why the Indians are focusing on more offense. They have a very good offense as it is. They should be focusing on starting pitching.
  11. my god, shut up. Wow, if that's your attitude towards somebody who is expressing their dislike for their off-season and rightly so, maybe you should follow your own advice.
  12. Any big names people are expecting to be non-tendered?
  13. Ben has been on the floor and he hasn't done jack to be honest. It's a bad game. We got schooled bad.
  14. I think that if you assume that Eyre and Howry give Baker enough pen options so as to not completely use up Wuertz by June 15th, and if you (correctly, IMO) assume Pierre gives us about .50-.75 more OBP points out of the leadoff spot, you would win anywhere from 1-6 more games on average. Just by default, we've upped the odds tha Aramis or Lee come up with a guy on more often with Pierre leading off. However, just making these tweaks doesn't make us a contender. It makes us somewhat improved over last season, which is not Jim Hendry's job. Hendry's job is to make sure we are the best possible team going into the season. Then again there is no more Nomar, no RF as of yet and we are also hoping for 2 rookies to pan out.
  15. I would hate to see Cedeno go. Even if we can get Tejada having him at 2B would be great.
  16. signing giles would be admitting that there's something to the statistic of on-base percentage. hendry will never do that, he hates OBP, and will go out of his way to avoid players who have it. Who wouldn't want Giles? But I think its unfair to criticize Hendry for not signing Giles. Giles had no intentions of leaving the West Coast. He turned down bigger money elsewhere to stay in SD. according to who? Ummm..maybe Giles? Giles signed for 3/30 to stay in SD. Didn't Toronto offer him some big money? I know LA was in on him, but they are also a West Coast team. Giles has made no secret over the years as to his preference for playing on the West Coast. This isn't news. Pure speculation that Toronto denies and I believe those rumors to be untrue. Nobody would offer Giles a 5 year contract which was rumored. Offer a 3/36 contract and see what happens. At least try to sign the guy. Now we are stuck with mediocre(as usual) options at RF. What a joke.
  17. Not to digress but..If we had another manager we would probably have had at least 5 more wins during the season bank on it.
  18. That's a given with that fool. He did it with Burnitz so you know he will do it with Jones.
  19. I have a feeling Jones might be signed before this weekend finishes.
  20. We sign JJones to a 3 year deal and Hendry as well as Baker should be fired on the spot. Mediocrity at its finest.
  21. Cardinals still have one of the best offenses and solid rotation. They still win the Central as far as I'm concerned.
  22. JJones hits for low avg low obp and Ks a lot. How is that not a knock on him.
