  1. If the Cubs were sold to the right person I think it would be good for the organization but what happens if somebody like Wirtz comes along and buys them? We wouldn't be able to watch home games on TV and yearly budget will go down as well.
  2. I will seriously lose it if Baker is here next year. It's bad enough we are stuck with Rusch and Neifi for this year.
  3. But Neifi will start. Of course he will Dusty is free to do whatever he wants. He ruined our team. Ruined it. He took our hero and drove him out of town(Sosa), yet he keeps garbage like Perez around. He pitched Wood and Prior so hard they are shells of what they should be. He sits productive big leaguers like Todd Walker. He cost us the playoffs two years ago by insisting on letting Hawkins blow game after game down the stretch when everone, LaTroy included was calling for someone else to close. He cost us going to the World Series by allowing Mike Lowell to hit instead of Lenny Harris. You know the same Lenny Harris who hit .183 for us including several games at leadoff. I am done with the Cubs until he is fired. He has ruined my passion for baseball. I'm not a Dusty sympathizer - and do think he should be fired - but I don't think that Dusty is completely responsible for this year. Of course injuries are an issue, but is it Dusty's fault that the team wasn't adequately prepared for Prior and Wood to go down? No, that's Hendry's fault. Is it Dusty's fault that it took the team over a month to make a move following the Lee injury? No. Sure Dusty doesn't always make the best on the field moves but management is just as much to blame, if not more, than Dusty is. Dusty also didn't force Sammy out of town. That was ownership and Sammy himself. Sammy needed to realize that he was no longer the star he used to be and he needed to change his philosophies. It was Sammy who refused to move closer to the plate when anybody with an eye could tell that Sammy couldn't touch the outside pitch. Was it Dusty's fault that Sammy corked his bat? Didn't think so. But Sammy isn't solely to blame with this issue either. It was ownerships fault for exposing everything that happened in regards to Sosa walking out. They should have solved everything in house. But that isn't Dusty's fault. Dusty should and will take a lot of blame for this year, but not everything is his fault. Agreed. This season is down the tubes thanks to Hendry but his sidekick loser Baker has no clue how to manage. I'm surprised he has surpassed the high school level of coaching, that's how bad this idiot is. Sosa leaving was def not Baker's fault, if anything Baker covered for him. I mostly blame Baker for being the worst manager in baseball by not only starting Neifi but putting him in the 2 hole. When was the last time we had a consistent lineup? How is the offense going to gel when we have never had a consistent lineup? What's up with his double-switches too? I also hate how he handles his pitchers and has one extra bullpen arm which isn't necessary. And then people wonder why some of our pitchers go an entire week without pitching. That's the worst manager in baseball in a nutshell.
  4. It's really to drive us all crazy. It makes me so mad I want to break things. I'm with you man. So far I haven't broken anything but I've been close.
  5. Not only does he start but he is put in the 2hole by the worst manager in the business.
  6. Maddux is over the hill and would hate to see him resigned for next year.
  7. I love it and if I ever go to Wrigley this year I will blow it up and use it.
  8. why not save some money by firing the bullpen coach and giving all the relievers those square "pagers" they have at Applebees? Your pager starts flashing/buzzing, warm up! That's pretty funny but it is a good idea. :)
  9. Sarcasim. Just about everyone on this board thinks Wood and Prior are washed up and will never live up to their hype. You can make a case for both of them.
  10. In theory it sounds like a great idea but can Konerko even play the OF? He must be the slowest player in MLB and who even knows what kind of arm he has. It wouldn't hurt to try him out in the OF and test him out before the game to see how effective he would be though.
  11. I was reading a report that Mulder has lost velocity last year and lost even more this year any truth to that? Did he have any injuries recently that would cause that?
  12. What was really great to watch was Griffey's sequence of ABs - he got him swinging with a nasty changeup, and got him to pop up harmlessly later with a similar pitch. To me, this means his stuff is nasty enough where they couldn't completely adjust...or maybe it was just his first ML start? He has a lot of movement on his pitches too and has good velocity. We'll soon find out but so far he has been impressive. I'm glad to see his changeup though because when I saw him in relief he pretty much was using FB and Curve.
  13. I didn't get to see Marmol pitch but I did see the 7K highlight. He had a really nice changeup to K Lopez who was the 2nd batter in the vid. Good stuff.
  14. I love delusional flashbacks. When Baker leaves this organization I will rejoice.
  15. Maybe it's not a good idea to use the same pitcher 3 days in a row.
  16. Pierre is terrible an why is Z batting? Is he coming in for ther 8th? Why?
