I'm tired of watching this POS pitcher. This is ridiculous. Z is an absolute head case on the mound right now. His focus appears to be wavering and he is just not effective. Half his pitches are thigh high, and the other half are so far off the plate hitters aren't even thinking about it. It used to be a given Carlos would go six to seven innings, but the Cubs are fortunate when he makes it through five. Either he's getting shelled, or isn't economical enough to go any longer. Good god I wish the real Z would come back. This imposter on the mound is nearly unwatchable.

I don't know how you can be mad at Z for that. He threw two or three pitches that anyone else in baseball would have swung and missed at. That's b/c he was going for the K and not the out like he always does. Ever since Z became more of a "strikeout" pitcher, his effectiveness has decreased accordingly. He doesn't as deep into games as he used to, his groundball to fyball ratio has plummeted, and he has already given up more homers this year than he did the entire '04 (??) season. He used to be able to negate the walks by giving up few homers and enducing many a double play. Now it just doesn't happen. I wish we had that old Z back. Not quite, but close. He's given up 11 HR's this year and gave up 14 in 2004. So he'll likely have given up more sometime in June. Maybe it was '03 then. I'm pretty sure one of those years he only gave up 9 or 10 homers during the regular season.

Z better increase his efficiency or he'll be 5 and done today. That was a good start.

One of the most underrated units in the NFL will be the Bears receiver corps. If BB, and Mark are healthy they will be one good unit. Then "throw in" Mush, Rashied, Airese, and Gage and we'll have a stable of diverse receivers. I am so syked about this team I can't even put it into words.

If that's the case I'm not so sure I like this deal. 15 mil a year for a player on the wrong side of thirty who isn't even a superstar. It also would put a kabosh to any other FA maneuverings the team may have been pursuing. The team is definately better because of the deal, but I really think it signals the end of Tyson's tenure with the Bulls. This makes me a little leary because I got the feeling he may win the NBA's most improved player award.

This Dusty topping his stupidity stuff is getting out of hand. He wants to bench one of our better players (which isn't saying much right now), for the worthless Freddie Bynum. Then factor in the fact this team has nothing to gain and a lot to lose by this move. And some (not here) wonder why our "kids" don't develop. Unreal. I think Dusty needs to take a look around the league to find guys who didn't start on fire once they came to the league. A guy by the name of Travis Hafner rings a bell, as well as half of the Indians lineup. How's a guy suppose to hit righties if he's not given the chance to do so? I could understand if we had a good platoon option and were actually in the race, but this is out of it. There mayyyy be a silver lining in all of this. With Bynum the Cubs will have the chance to suck so bad that even Hendry won't be able to ingnore the fact the Cubs need to peddle all their tradeable players for young prospects. Then again I'm not going to hold my breath. -

I think we, as the fans of this organization, have earned the right to overreact by watching this team everyday in the hopes of a meaningless victory. Oh - and Z has been one of the constants, not getting hurt. This does not happen everyyear, but it could be "his year" Yes, actually it does happen every year. Heavy arm is common and Zambrano has experienced as much in the past seasons as well. You have absolutely no more of a claim to the statement that "it's nothing, happens every year" than others have to the claim that "it's something". Maybe it doesn't have to happen every year if Dusty had an ounce of common sense in dealing with his pitchers. I don't think theDude was making the comment based on his own opinion, rather he was simply reiterating Z's quote. Personally, for now, I'll think I'll side with Z on this one.

Yeah my dad told me this. I've got a big WTF for my boy Nathan Vasher. Know what's funny? Dick Jauron's Buffalo Bills lead the league in most holdouts in the league with 11. The article in today's paper really sours me on Vasher. I don't care what he's paid he signed the contract so he should honor it. At 425,000 a year he's not going to get any tears from me.

Seconded, is Dempster no longer closing? I could understand in a close game with the meat of the order up? He still is. Dusty figured since he was warmed up he might as well bring him in. Can't necessarily say I blame him

or if he is going to swwing at it then go with the pitch and take it to right. Aramis was always one of the better hitters at taking it to the opposite field. CAn't say that this year thoguh.
