  1. I still think Zambrano is going to settle down and pitch a good game tonight. If the Cubs can't climb their way out of a 2 run hole, it won't be the fault of the pitcher.
  2. Oh great, a special ESPN feature during on went wrong in the 2003 play-offs. I can't wait... :x
  3. I guess when your being made to look foolish by a dowdy old man, it must be the ball.
  4. Dustyquote: Translation: With Derrick Lee out, I'm going to overmanage like it's 1999! Get used to it - double switches galore, sac bunts up the wazoo - Dusty's going to prove his managerial mettle.
  5. One for the "who'd a thunk it" file... Koronka picked up his third win for the Rangers today (8 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO). He's pitched pretty well for them (3.75 ERA). So far, that trade for Gremlin 2: TNB is not lot looking too hot, not that any of us thought that losing Koronka was a big deal.
  6. Michael Barrett on the postgame: "Why don't they just accuse of cheating. It's better than asking to check the ball all of the time."
  7. I'm glad the streak is over in a game like this and not in a 1 run game. Cubs win!
  8. There goes Dempster's first earned runs of the season.
  9. Ahhh, the obligatory Dempster appearance with a big lead.
  10. I was hoping Pierre would steal 2nd to stick it to Larussa.
  11. Come on Novoa, let's make this relatively painless.
  12. Brad Thompson vs. Michael Barrett in a fight. I wonder who'd win?
  13. the gremiln II My new nickname for Freddy Bynum...Gremlin II: The New Batch.
  14. I got like 30 after I figured out the pitcher tips his pitches. :) who is the pitcher? Williams or Rusch?? Neither, he's got better movement and changes speed more effectively than either of them.
  15. I got like 30 after I figured out the pitcher tips his pitches. :)
  16. A series against the Marlins should prevent that from happening.
  17. That was hilarious. What made it even better was the despondency in Ron's voice when he was asking about the "gun".
  18. This can't be said enough. The Cubs are currently last in the league in number of walks taken, while being near the top (currently 4th) in walks allowed by pitchers. Over the off-season you heard a lot about lack of fundamentals, team speed, lack of clutch hitting, etc. But ultimately, the problem with this franchise, carried over from last year, is that they simply refuse to recognize the value of a walk.
  19. Hate to say it. I had some hope that the Cubs could come back in this one, but that RBI double may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
  20. Don't worry, he'll get a stern talking to. He should know that nothing good can happen by walking with 2 outs.
  21. http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/img/dusty1001.jpg is allergic to http://googolplex.cuna.org/12433/5spot/images/rtabe44d.jpg
  22. If Rusch walks Luna, Dusty has to go straight to Williamson.
