  1. Holy.... That is one of the worst line-ups I can possibly imagine. This line-up is absolutely grounds for a firing IMHO.
  2. That's fine with me. I'll let ya go, then I'll go after you. Fair enough?
  3. I take it that I am next?
  4. Question: I take it that I am next on deck for starting gamethreads? (Haven't gotten an e-mail notification, but noticed that sethual1 (spelling not correct, please pardon my mistake) is up, and I follow after him. I tried to check up on the Game Thread Starters forum, but that list haven't changed yet, on page 1.
  5. I disagree with most of Dusty's game managing tatics. I do not like the idea of him running the pitchers into the ground, playing inferior players over superior players, and the list goes on. Dusty's quotes are somewhat annoying as well. After the Cubs couldn't manage a run aganist the Pirates' lefty Zach Duke, Baker complained about the team's lack of left-handed batting pitchers. In the pantheon of lame excuses, where does this one rank?
  6. Man, what a slaughter. Even Custer had better numbers at the Little Bighorn than this. :x
  7. My guess is the Broncos wanted him badly enough and felt he wouldn't be there later. Could be, but I don't think Baltimore would need a QB, since they seem so darned committed to Boller, even though Boller isn't good. Cleveland didn't need a QB. Philly maybe might need one, so that's a good thought. I thought St. Louis could had used one, since whenever Bulger gets hurt, the Rams fall apart. Of course, the Rams does need a run-stopping DT.
  8. Traded up to St. Louis spot. I believe a 3rd rounder was involved as well. St. Louis take the 15th spot.
  9. Interesting move by the Broncos.
  10. I wouldn't be suprised. After Bulger, there isn't much of a QB's in St. Louis.
  11. I bet AZ might get Leinart.
  12. Hmm... my memory isn't very good as for right now... I keep thinking that this was the guy that managed the A's, until I realized that was Art Howe. Anyone enlighten me who is Steve Howe? Thanks.
  13. I think it's too early to tell, but I am liking how this bullpen is shaping up for the most part. It's sure a hell alot better than last year, especially in the middle-relief section of the BP. Just glad that Dempster worked out very well as a closer.
  14. Jones can't be dealt till June anyway and I actually think you would find a market for him -- I believe a significant portion of his deal was in the signing bonus.... as long as the Cubs didn't try to pass that cost off on the acquiring team, I'm sure there would be a few GMs interested in JJ @ $3-4mil/year. Didn't the Royals make him the same 3 year / $15mil offer or even offer him more? There is not going to be a market for Jones, and Hendry isn't going to try and trade him. KC had an offer, it wasn't accepted, so they went elsewhere. They don't just have $15m laying around they want to spend. Jacque Jones of 3 years/$16M (2006-08 ) signed as a free agent 12/05 $4M signing bonus (paid 1/06 to 1/08 ) 06:$3M, 07:$4M, 08:$5M If we picked up the bonus and the first half of his salary this year, KC could probably afford $1.5 for this year, then 9 mil over '07 and '08. They could afford it, if it were made worth their while. I'm not sure making it worth their while would be worth it. I think that depends on what KC will do with their payroll. I get the gut feeling that if the Royals repeat like their performance in 2005 or worse, I think they'll probably shave off some of the payroll, which I don't think they'll have any wiggle room to try to get Jones.
  15. Whenever the player has Neifi Perez-like numbers, it's deftinaly easy to write him off.
  16. Cubs will have to do better than 7-9 from 2005 aganist the Brewers this year.

    Wow

I was looking through ESPN Page2 on the 100 worst draft picks ever on this link. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=schoenfield/060427 As most of you know that I follow the Royals (Not as close as the Cubs) I was stunned on the Royals first round picks from 1992 to 2001. You'd have to scroll down 2/3rd of the page to go to number 27 and it runs from 27 to 18. All of the Royals first-round picks, from 1992-2001, pretty much bombed, big time. Wow.
  18. That's a heck of a performance that Neifi put on the plate today as well. Just awful.
  19. Just missed on that shot, just went hooking foul.
  20. No. Bynum shouldn't be even be on this team anyways.
