  1. He is who I thought he is. Thank goodness we let him off the hook here.
  2. Frusterating. Ronny Santo is a Hall of Famer in my view, regardless of what the jokers in the Veterans Committe says.
  3. Any word on when Wood may pitch?
  4. Well, looks like they could potentionally avoid the 100 losses mark this year.
  5. I do recall him wearing his socks up high.
  6. I'd rather see Hill repeat his performance from 2006. *Smacks my own forehead* 2006 Dag-nabbit! :D
  7. Easy now. Remember, the Cubs has history of letting a not-so-good pitchers dominate them as if they're a Cy Young pitcher.
  8. This is great news. How nice it would to have the 2003 Mark Prior with Carlos Zambrano. That would solidify the starting pitching, and it would be nice to see something like: Zambrano Prior Hill That's one hell of a 1-3 starting pitchers, provided that Hill repeats his performance from 2005.
  9. same reason prior will be gone when his contract is up. I think a great season this year by Prior could keep him a Cub with an extension. With Wood, even if he has a great season, there will be doubts about him being a healthy starter. I'd think, with Wood's reasoning, that if he wants to continue to keep playing, say another 5-6 years, without risking of re-injuring himself, he would have to come into a conclusion that being a reliever is the best option for him, and his career.
  10. Fine by me. Usually 3 pitches is good enough in the pen IIRC. Isn't the curveball one of the contributing factors on his injury?
  11. Ditto on loving to see him do very well.
  12. Fine by me. Hopefully it'll expose them of how "brilliant" they really are. It'd be comical to see Dusty try to defend Neifi (Which, I'll assure that it would more than likely happen) on the Leyland discussion.
  13. Of course, in time, it can dry out.
  14. Go back to hating Marquis and Izturis?? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/SwedeCarlson/Funnies/Brilliant.jpg BRILLIANT!
  15. Not bad. Maybe perhaps while that one year will give The Jimster some more time to work with Zambrano's agent on how much Zambrano should get paid.
  16. Oh hell.... As Brinoch mentioned, there goes our 2007 MLB Season.
  17. Win 2 of the final 3 and one win in the Big 12 Tourney we're in, no doubt. 2-3 gets us fourth in the Big 12 and a Big 12 first round bye. I'm not sure I'd say no doubt. That still leaves nothing but wins over other bubble teams and losses to 4 teams who are no doubt not tourney teams. The loss to Nebraska may come back and bite K-State in the you-know-where. That was the game K-State should've won.
  18. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/SwedeCarlson/Funnies/Smack/self-1.jpg :D
  19. The only way K-State is gonna get a shot in the NCAA is win out, and get deep into the Big XII tourny. Other than that, it's more of a NIT team, which K-State may be primed for next year's NCAA Tournament.
  20. Wow.... At least he didn't trip over his dog or something....

    Wood

Haven't seen this posted, but if so, my apologies. MLB.COM I hope everything works out well for Wood. Going through 2 months w/o any issues gives me some hope.
  22. I was reading the Kansas City Star, and on the sports section, where it made a tibit of the trade, it said "Cubs trade Bird Killer" http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/16692325.htm I was like "Huh, that's the first I heard of it.
  23. Missouri looks like dead out there. Officiating isn't any good either.
  24. Other than that Houston being his "hometown" or the state where he currently lives, per-se, I can't imagine Houston having a strong shot at the playoffs. My guess, back in Boston or NY. Both of those two teams has a better chance of making it to the playoffs than Houston, IMHO. I hope you're right, and I agree Houston doesn't have a great chance at the playoffs even if Clemens returns there. Yeah. If I was a betting man, I'd probably bet that he'll go back to Boston/NY, as I previously said, that both of them have a better chance of making it to the playoffs. I'm guessing that Roger wants to go out on a bang, which would be winning the World Series.
