I mean, I know I'm not the greatest poster of all time or anything, but this place has really gotten bad with personal flaming over actual baseball analysis. I understand it's the internet, but had been under the impression that this place was supposed to be different, that if you wanted to be like that there were always going to be the cubs.coms of the world, but nowadays it's always people fighting other people rather than posts, in particular a few people, but whatever. It's just not the way it used to be and that's unfortunate. What NSBB stands for just isn't what it once was.

Yeah, saw that too. Probably a ref to T.I.'s song "Rubber Band Man" which encourages people to wear a rubber band after becoming wealthy to remind them of the struggle.

Lee deserves to be nowhere higher than 5th in the lineup. maybe second. maybe. Anyhow, this is a bad deal people are going to really regret, probably more than the Soriano deal. Unless they get Peavy somehow, this will have been the worst offseason for the Cubs in quite some time. Luckily for us, the Brewers has been even worse, the Cardinals still refuse to throw money to anything not named Pujols, and Houston is just dumb. I guess all that matters is getting into the postseason, and then it's a roll of dice.

An honest to goodness shame. When he was on, he was one of the most intricate and talented baseball players I have seen play. -
Mike Murphy should be banned from radio. He is a terrible analyst with a terrible voice and even worse gimmickry. It's like a two hour Brown's chicken commercial. He cuts in on people making points with all his yeah and uh-huhing, like he isn't listening at all, rather just waiting for the next thing to say. He knows little to nothing about statistics and is basically a moron who gives Cub fans a bad name. I get that he was a bleacher bum, but how that entitles someone to a sports radio show is beyond me. Boers and Bernstein can be brilliant at times, however.

yeah, i just don't like the thing about the draft picks the most. if you aren't going to have a salary cap, then teams like the yankees can spend crazy money on a guy like sabbathia. the point of the picks was to compensate for the lack of a cap, right? well if the yankees just keep buying players, then even that compensation goes away. that's my only problem with this. because, no matter what, if there is no salary cap, toronto and milwaukee are not ever going to spend anywhere near new york. -

Burris/Sandoval. There's another one I am forgetting. Sandoval's my guy though. If they get a decent shortstop AND lee, their infield would be one of the best offensive in the NL, imo.
