  1. Bob Costas was talking up Juan Pierre right before that double play in the top of the inning. :rotfl:
  2. Don't know that I've ever seen a manager make a pitching change with a pitcher coming to bat.
  3. Completely forgot Mr. T will be in the booth for a half inning. This game is already unbearable , I just might have to take the bottom of the 7th off and watch some NBA for a copule minues. I PITY THE FOOL THAT CHANGES THE CHANNEL ON MR T! Yes that was lame. :stickman:
  4. How many times have we said that this season?
  5. Now now let's not wish such a thing on Koyie. He can punch Aaron Miles, Ryan Freel or Neal Cotts just as easily.
  6. Nah, that will happen sometime after the first home run he'll inevitably give up. :hello:
  7. IF HENDRY DIDN'T SPEND HALF HIS BUDGET ON DORITO'S THEN WE'D STILL HAVE WOOD & DEROSA AMIRITE? /recent wave of cubs.com style analysis
  8. I'm with you for the most part but I just don't see all this back and forth leading anywhere. The people that want him gone will continue to do so. Just seems like an "agree to disagree" situation IMO. I mean I really respect everything you have said in this thread but it is mostly falling on deaf ears. You have more energy than I do, I'll commend you on that. :hello:
  9. To be fair to the anti-Hendry crowd they have been after him for quite a while now not just because of this 7 game losing streak. I have mixed feelings about Hendry. On the one hand his tenure has marked an increased frequency in winning seasons compared to the past. On the other hand, with the resources he has available it can be argued he has underachieved at times.
  10. No equally outrageous either way.
  11. On one swing of the bat the Padres equal the Cubs run output over the first 5 games of the road trip.
  12. In 2001 the Cubs lost 8 games in a row. Then they immediately followed that up with a 12-game winning streak. Things can turn around quickly. Ugh. Don't remind me of that team. They folded like a cheap suit in August/September. OMG JEFF FASSERO! :banghead:
  13. The problem is that some people who might be good productive posters in this thread don't even know that it exists. Because unless you use the "view active topics" button, then many posters might never know it is even here. Like I said, why would most posters have any reason to view the contents of the Draft Forum until around draft time? I agree. The only reason I found this thread is that dougdascenzo posted about IU winning the Big Ten in the Social forum which of course got locked but then I saw the note by NC that this thread existed. I mean I'm not a huge college baseball fan by any means but since IU is in the NCAA tournament for the first time in forever I'll probably start following it more closely.
  14. Wow lol. God really does hate us right now.
  15. I've seen the Cubs have some bad road swings before but holy crap this is one of the most pathetic. 3 runs on the entire trip so far. It never sounds any less incredulous no matter how many times I say it to myself.
  16. These recent slump sucks but yeah I don't see the need to dump Lou or Gerald. The way to get back on track is get guys healthy and get other guys back to performing to normal standards.
  17. Myself I find it impossible to care that much about the regular season anymore. Nothing will exceed my sickness from the fall of 2008.
  18. NOTE TO GOD - I WOULD NOT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT BEING WRONG THERE
