  1. Yes, Aramis is in Surprise. He singled in the first.
  2. Grissom grounds out to Grudzielanek. Side retired. Mid 1, Cubs 3, Royals 0.
  3. Please avoid any and all Hawk Harrellson-isms, please.
  4. Ramirez singles. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Hairston getting caught stealing cost us a run.
  5. He did. He said he was suspicious but there was no proof. He didn't accuse Sammy of anything nor did he say that Sammy was on steroids. He answered a direct question that was posed to him about Sammy. He didn't go out of his way to bash Sammy. He answered that question the same way 99% of baseball fans would have answered it. The only people who don't have any suspicious that Sammy used are Cubs homers. I'm not sure what you guys want out of Grace and it's pretty clear that most people here are giving Grace a hard time because of their personal feelings about him. No he did more than that. He made some major implications that Sammy used steroids, especially when he said he wouldn't vote for Sammy into the HOF. The only way you don't do that is if you think he's on the juice. It appears that Grace is trying to pile it on while avoiding the issue he should answer. Grace obviously knows who some users are. Why not give us the real info? Considering the fact he didn't out any player in that interview, I don't know why you think he should have to out players in order to say that he is suspicious of Sammy. In regards to the HOF, he probably is suspicious enough to not vote him in. He gave his honest answer. Maybe he thinks that being caught with a corked bat should keep you out of the Hall. He never says that Sammy is a user. Why are you ascribing all of these ulterior motives to Grace's interview and the subsequent printing of his answers? How was he "piling on" when asked specifically about Sosa? Why not share his "suspicions" of other players? I would think someone offering me steroids would also make me suspicious.
  6. For the Royals in Surprise: CF Ambress 2b Grudzielanek 1b Mienkiewiiz RF Sanders DH Stairs SS Beroa 3b Gordon German C Bako
  7. I have the sound muted on my TV, so if Len or Bob says anything newsworthy, let me know. I'll try to give updates over what is happening in Surprise...at least until the LSU game starts.

  9. Don't know for certain, but you would assume one or both will make appearances today. Ryu is starting tomorrow, and Maddux on Monday. weird...ryu just threw on wednesday...and not that well. why is he getting starts over hill and gooz? and it seems strange that marshall is starting again so soon. I have no clue. Just looking at the Press notes.

  11. That JT Snow signing really looks out there right now. I could be remembering wrong but I think I remember Snow being signed primarily as a backup. I don't have any proof but I thought I heard when he signed that he'd be at most a platoon player but probably a backup. I think Snow was insurance for Youklis and to provide late inning defense.
  12. This is likely the end of the line for Bagwell. I don't see him recovering, but we'll see.
  13. Then if Grace wan't to be vague and not name the guys he knew used, he should have shown the same discretion when asked about Sammy who he has no proof used.
  14. They always bring minor-leaguers up, even more for split-squad games. Luis Montanez homered last night. Mike Fontenot is up for one of today's game. The more bodies the better. Are you at Hohokam or Surprise, Bruce? Do you have an assistant at the game you aren't able to attend? I'm in Mesa. An assistant? I wish. The Cubs give us inning-by-inning reports from the other game. They staff it with a media-relations person. That's cool. I'm going to try to watch the WGN game while listening to the Royals broadcast, but LSU plays at 3:30 CST and when that starts, all bets are off.
  15. If LSU, UCLA, UConn, and Florida win my Final Four stays intact.
  16. Cubs Press Notes Murton gets a little love in the notes.
