  1. Arizona fumbles the kick off and LSU recovers! A rout is about to occur here. Geaux Tigers!
  2. Zenon runs an INT back 41 yards for a TD. Bayou Bengals up 10-0! Geaux Tigers!
  3. LSU with an early 3-0 lead over Arizona. Geaux Tigers!
  4. I don't think Baker accepts, even if he is offered one.
  5. We might could land Cabrera, but it would cost a package that would include Pie, Marshall or Hill, and one more of Gallagher, Veal, Paweleck, or Marmol.
  6. Please don't tell me this is a statement of endorsement. Does the man deserve to be let go... yes. Did he help at all in his tenure with the Cubs...somewhat. Should he still be treated with respect, because he has treated the fans with respect... yes. Dusty needs to part way. He hasn't really worked out with the organization, and I'm sure he can find a better fit elsewhere. This doesn't mean he should be trashed and humiliated on his way out. He can probably say something to do it on his own. Show him the class he shows the fans when he is speaking to them after games. He is not a good person. He constantly shifts blames to others rather than accepting blame for his own actions. He deserves nothing. cheapseats, being a bad manager, and 'is not a good person' are not the same thing. Don't confuse the two. Johnny B. Baker is wonderful person, nice, charming, personable. Dusty Baker the manager is dumber then a box of rocks. There are the same person, yes, but don't confused Baker's managerial persona with his off-the-field persona. That is true. Baker is an extremely nice and personable human being. The same could be said for Jim Hendry. Neither do I want running my team, but that doesn't mean they aren't good, well-intentioned individuals.
  7. Howard may be catching up to Pujols offensively, but he still isn't the better player. Pujols is actually a good defensive first baseman while Howard is pretty shabby. The difference in fielding runs alone between the two is worth a couple of wins. Pujols totally deserves the award more than Howard, gaudy homerun totals aside. Then Pujols should win the Gold Glove at first. But as for MVP, Howard deserves the award, if for nothing else, after trading Abreu he has taking his game to another level. I would like to see where Pujols numbers would have been had he not been injuried, but the fact remains, Howard SHOULD be the MVP. I'm not so sure. I'll have to check the numbers again, and will do so tomorrow or Monday, but the last time I checked, Pujols still held the lead in runs created and win shares. While Howard has been hot recently, Pujols was consistently good throughout the entire season. Howard has the glamor power numbers, but Pujols overall numbers are better. Howard may overtake him, but he still has a way to go. and Vance, we know that voters will often look at the glamour over the consistancy. That's the reason, why I give Howard the advantage. Now, if and when Howard reached 60 HRs, to me Howard locks up the MVP award. How can you NOT give a guy who leads the majors in HRs with a possible 60 or more HRs, to a guy who finished around the 44-48 range. I mean, both Pujols and Howard should be MVP, but my guess the voters, are going to go with the glamour power of Howard over the consistancy of Pujols. Just a hunch. You may be right, but then it would be my contention that the voters have gotten it wrong. So, I guess if you're asking who will win it, then Howard may be the answer. Who should win it? That's still Pujols.

  9. That was amazing. Great play!
  10. Why continue to vote for and push such an unrealistic opportunity? No offense intended. It just sounds like a waste of time, but it's your time. Because Dierker is the best option. I could ask everyone pushing to sign Zito the same question, but since we're all free to express our opinions, I'll continue to push my desire for Dierker as manager.
  11. Is Mizzou that good or Ole Miss that bad? Has Lane caught any passes for Mississippi? Lane has not. Their QB is 9-19, 62 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, sacked 3 times. Chase Daniel is having a great game. 22-38, 231 yards, 1 TD, sacked once. 92 yards rushing on 13 carries, with a TD. Total Net Yards: 428 for Mizzou, 78 for Ole Miss I was hoping Lane would have a good season. He's a good kid. He graduated from high school here as a highly touted QB but didn't do well reading defenses and is being used as a TE and H-back.
  12. You might get an ex-Houston manager managing the Cubs but it won't be Dierker. (Jimy Williams) But my money still says Baker will be extended because Hendry still believes, wrongly I might add, that he is the right man for the job. I am now comfortable in believing that Baker will not be back. I don't think after this season there is any way Hendry brings him back, and I don't think Baker wants to be back. I agree that Dierker likely would never be hired as long as Hendry is in charge. Now if we could get Hendry fired and replaced with Hunsicker, the odds of getting Dierker would increase dramatically.

  14. Hokies are beating the crap out of UNC.
  15. T.J. Houshmanzadeh is likely a game time decision. Link. If you're playing fanatsy and have a better option, you might want to sit him. I'm still picking the Bengals with him or without him.
  16. It appears that Steve Smith will be out of Sunday's game as well. Link. Also from that link, Najeh Davenport has signed with the Steelers. Jeremy Shockey didn't practice Friday, but he is still believed to be playing on Sunday against the Colts.
  17. No Portis for Sunday's game. Link. Fantasy players might want to adjust their teams accordingly. This also helps the Vikings chances. I'm going to be rooting for the Vikes in this contest.
  18. I'd go with Brown or Jones. I'd probably lean toward Jones. While Brown should put up better numbers, it's unknown how many carries he will lose to Henry.
  19. Vanderjagt will not be active for Dallas' game against the Jags on Sunday. Link. Second-year kicker Shaun Suisham will be the starter. Those with Vanderjagt on their fantasy teams might want to find another option.
  20. Interesting note on Parcells... Link I, for one, am hoping that the fourth year magic holds true in Dallas this time as well.
  21. We were only four months off in our prediciton of when Miller would be ready! Whoopeee!
  22. Dierker still has my vote. The man's views of the game are right on point.
  23. Some of that blog just needs to be quoted!
  24. Mortensen picks Cowboys and Bengals in the Super Bowl. Link
