  1. Ramirez bounces out to third. Runners hold. One out.
  2. You forgot to list Murton and Barrett as possible bench options from the right side. Because they're both everyday starters at this point. They'll probably get more days off than Soriano or Lee, but it doesn't make up for the gaping lack of RH hitters on the bench, especially in comparison to the left side. I do think we need one legitimate power threat from the right side for the bench. It's our glaring deficiency.
  3. It's still early, but it appears that Perry has changed this team's approach. Lee doubles off the wall over Hall, but Theriot slips and holds at third. Runners on third and second, no one out.
  4. Theriot leads off with a walk. Man, I like the riot.
  5. That's all that's guaranteed. Link. this is why the pats are always there. what a great deal for them. Based on their offseason, the Patriots right now are my early pick to win the SuperBowl in 2008.
  6. Graffanino vs Wood 1st pitch: strike (curve) Counsell steals second 2nd pitch: ball 3rd pitch: pops out to Theriot 2-1 Cubs, Mid 5
  7. Counsell vs Wood 1st pitch: ball (FB high) 2nd pitch: ball (FB high) 3rd pitch: bouncing ball foul to the right side 4th pitch: fly ball foul to the left 5th pitch: chopper base hit to RF. Runner advances to third. Runners on the corners with two out.
  8. Someone for the Brewers flies out to Murton. 2 outs.
  9. Closser vs Wood 1st pitch: called strike (curve) 2nd pitch: 4-6 Closser reaches on FC. One out.
  10. Chavez vs Wood 1st pitch: ball (up and in) 2nd pitch: called strike 3rd pitch: foul 4th pitch: ball (high) 5th pitch: ball (up and away) 6th pitch: ball Walk
  11. Does Colvin have a shot at making the team if we go with 11 pitchers? Or who would be the 25th man behind Floyd, Ward, Theriot, Pagan, and Blanco? No, he needs to go and work on his game instead of sitting around on the bench. The Cubs have bigger plans for him... Colvin will probably be sent out early to join his minor-league team (probably Peoria). He's looked good here. As is the case with many No. 1 picks, he got the ST invite as part of his deal. Baseball people I've talked to really like him. I'm about 1.5 hours late here, but I was wondering if you had seen Colvin? He was really thin last season and supposedly bulked up during the offseason and yet he looked thin in the pics and video footage I've seen so far. Any thoughts? He's added some weight, but he doesn't look "bulky" at all. Thanks, he definitely needs to add more muscle, imo. Pat might be able to get him some mashed potatoes.
  12. Soriano grounds out to short. End of 4, Cubs 2-1.
  13. Nevin would give us some RH pop on the bench.
  14. Ballfour into pitch...Ron says the Cubs had lots of guys last season that could be named Ball Four.
  15. Hart hits a ball deep to left. One run scores, but Hall thrown out at the plate. 2-1 Cubs, mid four.
  16. Jenkins flies out to right. Two one, two out.
  17. Hall walks. Two on, no one out. Trying hard to keep up as Selig discusses how much Pat eats.
