    I don't like that Young only got five games. I would have thought ten would have been about right for him. On the other hand, I'm happy Lee only got five. I feared he could get 7+. MLB really does need to find a more equitable way to handle suspensions. I'd prefer it to be a set penalty per offense and remove the discretion that Watson has. He's proven over the course of time that he's unable to remove his bias and personal feelings when handing down discipline. Frankly, he's a joke.

    Maybe because he was only the GM for two years of his tenure here? Get your facts straight. You definetly work for the Tribune company. Why, because I told him to get his facts straight? Those are the facts. MacPhail was Cubs GM from July 2000 to July 2002...TWO years. I just happen to pay more attention to the business side of the game because it fascinates me. That doesn't mean that I work for Tribune Company. I think the responses to my post shows why I don't have a lot of posts for the number of years that I have been a member of this community. CARRIE! or Sharon! It's one or the other.

    If we're still under .500 in July, I hope we trade Zambrano to the Angels for a package including Brandon Wood, to the Braves for a package including Salty, or to the Mets for a king's ransom.

    This guy needs to get off his "high horse." He must spend his spare time memorizing Oswald Spengler's The Decline of the West; he probably also has a PhD. He certainly writes like one. I ought to know, I have been on a university faculty for 30 years. I wished that Derek Lee hadn't taken that swing at the guy, but he did. Even the best of us can occaisionally lose it. Under the same circumstances I might have done the same; I am only human after all, and so is Derek Lee. Maybe I have over reacted. Aw who rally gives a *&^%. You can find the target of my rant here. I'd hope if he had a PhD., he'd use proper punctuation and capitalization.

    If the prices were equal, I'd take Dunn over Griffey as well.

    Once Sammy gets his 600th, the Rangers will hang onto him for a little while in order to gain some profits from the marketing of it. After that wears off, they will deal him. I have no doubt in this. The Angels might have some interest in him. I'm not sure who else would. I would love a return to the Cubs, but I know that won't happen.

    Knowing this was coming, I would have put Rapada in today's game to throw a couple of purpose pitches. Any suspension would just have to wait until he was recalled.

    As was stated a few posts above, our first concern is getting to .500. Until we can do that, I don't see us as a team that can make the postseason. I'm not as worried about the Brewers as I am that the Cubs are still a bad, underperforming team.

    No way he sits it out. Even if they announce a suspension on Sunday, Lee will appeal. He'll play. I have no doubt---unless there's swelling on the wrist that prohibits him from playing.
