  1. Wow....this team amazes me. First Hill lays a stinker. I never expected the bullpen could keep it close, and they are lights out. Then Aramis! Wow! Wow! Wow!
  2. Well, 75 pitches for Hill through 2. He may...just maybe will finish the third. Then our spectacular bullpen takes over.
  3. I haven't gotten to listen too closely yet, but this is almost believable... is this a joke?? Not a joke at all.
  4. The ball came right at his back and was coming at about 62 mph tops. There's no reason he should move. except for the umpire isn't supposed to award a batter the base if he makes no effort to avoid the pitch. What are you talking about? He turned away from the pitch and it hit him square in the back. To avoid it he would have had to have jumped on the plate. he could have walked. he could have ducked. he could have leaned forward or back. He had a ton of options because that pitch was so slow. He instead chose the part of his body it struck. He could have caught that thing bare handed True, he probably could have gotten out of the way, but anytime a pitch is that far inside, the batter is always awarded the base. I've never seen it not happen. If he leaned into a pitch that wasn't heading straight into the batter's box, maybe he isn't given the base...but that pitch was heading into the batter's box. I doubt any hitter in the league does what you're thinking.
  5. Mercifully, the inning ends. 45 pitches! Rich will not make it to the fourth. We'll see 2-3 innings from Eyre. Sorry folks, move along. There's nothing to see here.
  6. You realize the Cubs have scored over 5 runs each of the last 3 games...and we're facing a rookie pitcher? I also realize the Brewers will probably torch us considering that Hill will not last three innings with the number of pitches he's thrown.
  7. At least now, I can go ahead and bet busy with the things I needed to do but put off because of this game being on.
