  1. Soriano has had that hummer since late May. He was driving it when I was at Wrigley earlier this summer.
  2. Posada in 2007: 330/405/520 Cubs catchers in 2007: 205/262/328 Posada would be a mega jump in production!
  3. Our two primary catchers since Barrett was traded: 148/217/230 074/188/111 I'd rather have a few more passed balls and a little better hitting that. :puker:
  4. According to the Dallas Morning News, the Brewers and Indians have shown interest in centerfielder Kenny Lofton. Link. If Jones could be moved, Lofton would make a decent acquisition for the Cubs. The article mentions Sosa as well...
  5. How did Mel Rojas and his hanging curves not make this list?
  6. Ok, I admit I'm up late and a bit bored... but I decided to look up the players involved in the Pierre trade. This season, Sergio Mitre has a 2.76 ERA, 1.23 WHIPand a 57/19 K/BB ratio. I miss Sergio. Crying or Very sad
  7. The Rangers want to make room for Jason Botts. Also with the turn of Teixiera, the Rangers 1b/of/dh situation has gotten crowded. So, reports are that Sammy is on the block. Link. Sammy is only hitting 241/292/445 this season, but is hitting 344/434/594 vs left-handers this season. Sosa might make the perfect right-handed platoon partner for Floyd in rightfield. He'd be extremely cheap to acquire. I know there's going to be lots of people who aren't in favor of such a move. Sosa, however, seems to be the model citizen in Arlington. He also hasn't whined when his playing time has been limited. It might be a decent move that costs little of nothing. Maybe the Rangers move him for fallen prospect Brian Dopirak or a lesser prospect like Mathes. Perhaps, we could get Sosa while unloading Eyre on the Rangers.
  8. Hope the Yankees sell and trade for "Hip, Hip Jorge!"
  9. I think Floyd is just a large mass of lingering injuries.
  10. Were my two transactions at the break counted as before break transactions?
  11. If Sheets misses a start, this will be the third season in a row that he hasn't made his full slate of starts. Whether you call that injury prone or not, it certainly means that he has not been the epitome of health either. It's starting to become a trend. While it may appear these are fluke injuries, or unrelated injuries, the fact remains that he has missed starts because of injuries. It might reach the point where the most anyone should expect of Sheets is 22-25 starts. He already has 18 this season, so this injury would have to become fairly severe for him to not get 25. But in 2006, he started only 17 games and in 2005, he started only 22 games. It's three years since he made over 30 starts.
  12. Over the last 14 days, Andruw has hit 324/409/730. Over the last week, he's hit 625/727/1.250. That could be a fluke or it could indicate he's pulling out of his season long slump. I don't think the Braves will entertain the idea of dealing him, but if they did, I'd be all over it.
  13. And a bloop single wins the game.
  14. Gwynn grounds out 4-3, Jenkins moves to third. 1 out.
  15. Tell us how you really feel....
  16. Jenkins leads off with a double off Hawkins.
