  1. Carlos Lee doubles followed by a Mark Loretta single and the Astros lead the Brewers 1-0.
  2. still here... You aren't the one I'm referring to. We've had one with every Cardinal scoring update over the past three wins. He's noticeably absent with the updates today.
  3. Now 3-0 Pirates! Hey where are those Cardinal fans who love to post in this thread?
  4. Paulino with an RBI double and the Pirates add to the lead. 2-0 now.
  5. He's held the Astros scoreless through two, but Sheets has thrown 39 pitches. I surely hope the Astros can break through and score some runs and that Oswalt has a dominating performance.
  6. Based on those pictures, Phillips had moved away and Pujols ran at him. Yep, Phillips should have just thrown it at his noggin.
  7. I would as well.
  8. Looks like Maholm has been scratched from the start vs St. Louis and Ian Snell will move up to take his place.
  9. Any self-respecting middle infielder would put you in the hospital with the velocity and distance that the situation provides. You slide for several reasons. Courtesy, since you're already out; self-preservation, because several instances this year have shown that baseballs meeting skulls is not a positive result for anybody; and tactical, because you're going to do a better job breaking up the DP by banging the infielder in the legs than you are by risking your life to get in his line of sight. Excellently put. Better than I could do. CubRock, While there is no rule that says you have to slide, there's no rule that says the infielder has to alter his throw to miss you if you're in the line of sight between him and first. So, if he throws directly to first but hits your noggin, he hasn't broken any rules. However, if you go out of your way to give him a forearm shiver like you so insinuated, you have broken a rule.
  10. Pittsburgh (Maholm) at St. Louis (Wells) 1:15 PM Houston (Oswalt) at Milwaukee (Sheets) 1:05 PM Go Astros :puker: Go Pirates!
  11. According to this article from the Sporting News, Sandberg has "impressed" his bosses.
  12. This post means nothing because ERA and W/L are horrible stats in judging a pitcher. what stats do you have up your sleeve that makes trachsel a good option? It's probably based on Traschel's magnificent mechanics.
  13. Don't you owe us some streaking...I suggest tonight on Belmont between Clark and Sheffield.
  14. Floyd and Ramirez have hit Loaiza well; the rest of the line-up, not so much.
  15. Sometimes I worry I might be crazy. Then, out of nowhere, a random post will set me straight. Hahaha, being the lurker I am, those posts cracked me up when I read them. I would love to have a drink with her and find out why exactly she hates Ryno so. This is the same person that hates Mr. Grace for dirtbag-ish reasons, right? She has had to have had some awesome firsthand run-ins with these guys. Two things: I don't drink and I'm very fond of Mark Grace. What are your feelings toward Dave Martinez?
  16. Wow...nice to beat these Astro bastards! Now let's take the Dodger series and put the Cards and Brewers in the rearview mirror!
  17. Sometimes I wish being annoyingly juvenile in every game thread was a bannable offense.
  18. Pirates tie the Brewers at 4.
  19. Cardinals with a homer. While the Brewers and Cards are about to sweep, we're about to drop 2 of 3 to the pathetic Astros. Just great. :x
  20. 2-run homer by Braun gives the Brewers a 4-2 lead. :x
