  1. Log in to fantasy sports with your Yahoo ID. Click fantasy football and you should see the league from last year. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll post your roster for you.
  2. HOW MUCH MORE LESS COULD YOU CARE. Not as much as I'd care if they took away my french benefits.
  3. I have been to a game at Enron/Minute Maid, and I will say, it's one of my favorite new stadiums in the game today. I actually hate the stadium, but it's the closest NL park to me, so I see the Cubs there every year.
  4. I leave tomorrow afternoon for Houston. I'll be at this game.
  5. My keepers: Marshawn Lynch Laurence Maroney Larry Fitzgerald
  6. Any idea why they chose Daytona over Iowa? The extra day almost certainly helped. He's going to pitch tomorrow for Daytona, but would have had to wait until at least Friday for Iowa. Every extra day is important at this point because he still has a certain number of starters (probably around 4 I would say) where he has to show good control in order to be brought up, and it doesn't honestly really matter if the last 2 of those are with Iowa or the last 4 are. But giving him extra rest at this point does hurt, because it lengthens the timeframe. Not surprising that level doesn't matter much for Hill's situation. If his problem was that he was being hit hard, as opposed to wild, then level would matter because of the quality of competition. But since the issue is finding the strike zone it doesn't matter, since the strike zone is the same regardless of the level of competition. if you've watched enough minor league baseball, you realize this is not always the case. OK, the THEORETICAL strike zone is the same. Fair enough.

  8. Any idea why they chose Daytona over Iowa? baby steps, baby steps...
  9. That's good, I guess. At least it will be against more advanced hitters than Mesa and there will be people in the stands.
  10. Agreed. The top of my wish list is another reliever, and even that is probably a low priority and would have to come without offering much of our top level trading chips.
  11. I've taken my daughter (4) to a few games. She likes going, but does lose interest from time to time. She's better when there are plenty of family members to take turns entertaining her. I try not to force it on her, though. She did get to see Sammy Sosa's 600th HR, though she has no idea what happened.
  12. The boy is going home from the hospital today. Link.
  13. Didn't it just alternate between AL/NL every year? yes, which was also idiotic. HFA should, in some way, be based on the merit of the two teams involved, not a rotating schedule or an exhibition game or always played in the Superdome on turf Excellent idea!
  14. Yeah, let's have 100 all stars a year!! Absurd. They had pitchers go 15 innings. There are regular season games where managers are on their last pitcher in the 15th. There was no problem. The all star game probably won't go 15 for another 20 years, no reason to make changes based on the worst case scenario. Well, I agree that 50 all-stars shouldn't be there. My main point is that it is silly that HFA for the WS is tied to it so that the managers have to worry about it. No team wants a star lost for a year because he had to over extend himself in an ASG. On the other hand, no one (including the players who give up their break to come to the game) wants to see the game end with half the team still on the bench. Fans who watch want to see their players get in, so managers are still going to sub after a few innings. Pitchers are still going one or two and then out. I don't see why it's so important the game count for something. That's what I'd like to see changed.
  15. I think FOX really pushed for the "This Time It Counts" thing when the game ended in a tie. They wanted to have something to make the game marketable and significant. I think they were the biggest proponent of the idea. I may be wrong, but that's what I think happened.
  16. Steve Phillips argues that the game shouldn't count and Kruk says if they are going to make it count, then they should let each team bring fifty guys. Probably the first time I've agreed with those two.
  17. I think for many of those, a belief in a higher power is what gets them through it. Whether that belief is in something real or not (and judging by your post, you believe it isn't real) probably isn't important. The person struggling with the addiction believes it is and that belief helps them face things that they don't understand or can't control on their own. I can see why giving testimony of that would irritate someone who doesn't share the same religious beliefs, as in speaking of it like Hamilton does appears to give evidence of the validity of such a belief system. And yes, I'm sure his family and friends were a help to him, but someone who believes in God likely believes it is God working through those. And if such a belief helps someone fight their personal demons such as Hamilton has, I won't begrudge them that at all. Yeah but the best thing about it is he was a huge christian even before he screwed up his life, so where was God when he went downhill? I'm not for or against religion, I just think it is ridiculous when I hear about God getting everyone through their hard times, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS. Understandable, but one of the steps in most addiction recovery programs involves believing in a higher power to get you through. Also, most people with a Christian worldview have been taught that all goods things come from God. So, it isn't surprising that he sees him as his deliverer. In fact, I would be shocked that anyone with a religious background wouldn't view it such a way. I'm not saying it validates his belief in any way, but it's quite likely the belief does give him strength to deal with what he faces. And if that helps him kick his addiction and be a better father and husband and person, I'm glad he has that.
  18. stats you know better than to use stuff like EqA with wrigley23. I try to treat everyone equally.
  19. My guess is such a channel would be picked up on DirectTV's sports tier, so I'd love that. I already have EI, so extra Cubs games aren't a need for me personally, but I think it would be awesome.

  21. Hmm, let's look at the fallacy of this statement... Khalil Greene age 25 - 250/296/431( 259 EqA) age 26- 245/320/427 (268 EqA) age 27- 254/291/468 (272 EqA) career- 249/305/427 (262 EqA) Alex Gonzalez age 25- 239/281/361 (233 EqA) age 26- 292/370/416 ((271 EqA) age 27- 252/313/404 (242 EqA) career- 243/302/391 (243 EqA) Comparing the two, shows Greene is a but better than Gonzalez was. Now if you want to characterize them both as low batting average, low slugging, good fielders with a little pop then that's probably an accurate generalization. The difference is Greene is better at that than Gonzalez was. Comparing them is like saying Juan Pierre is another Ced Landrum. The skill sets are the same, but Pierre got more out of his than Landrum did.
  22. Yes, they have plenty of depth to make a deal. My feeling is they will want to hold onto Gamel, but they could still trade Salome, Escobar, Gillespie, Brantley, and others.
  23. If I'm giving up Veal, I'd rather have Mahay than Marte.
  24. I don't think Simokaitis is still in the organization either, Raisin.
