  1. I just want to add that I've heard numerous times major league pitchers say the change-up is the hardest pitch to throw.
  2. I don't care which bowl it is, but I hope there's a Miami-LSU match-up somewhere.
  3. http://msn.foxsports.com/id/5076616_7_1.jpg http://msn.foxsports.com/id/5076618_7_1.jpg http://msn.foxsports.com/id/5076620_7_1.jpg
  4. Vice City is awesome. Isnt that where you had to watch the stripper for 5 minutes in order to pass the mission? I daresay Jaxx is referring to the 20-year-old arcade game and not Vice City...but I could be hideously wrong. Yes, I was referring to the Atari version! And somehow, I just don't envision DJAXXFAN staring a stripper for five minutes. And while I've stared at my share of strippers, the digital version, I think, would leave something to be desired.
  5. What about a pole cat? http://www.djsphotography.co.uk/images/Mammals/Polecat-01.jpg
  6. The SEC is one tough conference.
  7. If you trade that much for Wilkerson and Livian, I doubt you have enoug trade bullets left to get Dunn or Abreu. You'd be left to trying to sign Giles or looking at other targets. You think the Cubs are giving up too much in that deal? When I wrote it I figured I would get the response of "That isn't enough to get it done." I would say the only (potentially) major loss in that trade is Hill, and I'm far from sold on him. I never said you were giving up too much, just when we do that deal, we won't have the right players left to get a Dunn or Abreu.

  9. More of the same from another source. My guess is Hendry is throwing out a lot of feelers for players such as Bradley, Mench, and Pierre. He'll likely take the best of the deals he can and then use free agent dollars to fill the other holes. Of those mentioned, bring on Milton Bradley.
  10. Thats good news. I acutally think the Yankees have to be the leader for his services. If you believe the agent he has spoke to Cashman 3 times already about Giles. My guess is the Yankees interest in Giles is to keep Matsui at the bargaining table. I figure when Matsui is signed, the Yankees interest in Giles will wane. While the Yankees would be in awe over the offensive production of a Matsui-Giles-Sheffield outfield, I think if they sign Matsui, they'll look for defense in CF.
  11. I'm not sure what the Nationals payroll situation is for next season, but Wilkerson made 3.05 million last season. He's arby eligible and likely will make in the 5 million range for 2006. That's certainly affordable, but unless he's locked up long term, he could walk. The Nationals have an abundance of outfielders with Church, Guillen, Wilkerson, and Byrd among others. I would be surprised if we ended up with Brad, but I guess its possible and it surely is desireable.
  12. Jayson Stark had this to say about Brian Giles:
  13. I like the fact that he's pursuing Wilkerson at least. Of course, Patterson for Wilkerson won't happen, but maybe something will get worked out. If we trade for Wilkerson and Dunn, I'm going to need a new pair of pants.
  14. You left off the best one...which would be the poles strippers use to dance. Those are the best kind of course.
  15. Auburn holds a 21-20 lead over Georgia with 1:34 left in the third. A very good game being played in Athens tonight.
  16. I was reading this article in the Minnesota Star Tribune, when I found this note near the bottom. It looks like the Mets are in on almost every rumor I read this offseason.
  17. The New York Times (registration required), has printed an interesing article on Pecota and how some front offices use it. Link. I found it interesting. There's no specific mention of the Cubs, but it does discuss some of the free agents the Cubs have targeted.
  18. I'm biased, but LSU's only loss was an OT loss of a game that had to be moved right after a second hurricane hit the state. A number of LSU players had displaced family members with them that week, so it was stressful. They've had big road wins against Arizona and Bama and beat Florida and Auburn at home. Miami is good though and could make a case. If Texas and USC play for the national championship, I'd like to see LSU face off against Miami assuming both end the season with only one loss.
  19. Russell completes a pass in the end zone to win the game! Hell Yeah! So, LSU or Miami? Who's the best one loss team? Yeah..I know I got beat on the post, Raisin, but I was busy dancing around my living room.
  20. Alabama with a FG. 13-10. LSU now gets their shot at the Bama defense. Geaux Tigers!
  21. LSU wins the toss and elects to play defense. They'll be playing in the end zone of Bama's student section. Geuax Tigers!
  22. And in Tuscaloosa, we're heading into overtime. Geaux Tigers!
  23. 2 seconds left...looks like this one is heading for overtime.
  24. No. He still has 2 options left.
  25. Jackson misses again, this time from 49 yds out. 54 seconds left 10-10.
