  1. Not a stupid fan thing at all. I will never forget seeing him at a hotel. I started to approach him for an autograph then saw he had coffee in one hand and a paper in the other so I stopped and started to turn around. He called me back and asked if I was wanting an autograph. I said yes, but...and he said no, come over here and hold my coffee (I still talk about holding Ron Santo's coffee :D ). He said he always had time for a Cub's fan. Will never forget that moment.
  2. First pitch is 4:19 right? They could be done before, but that does sort of fly in the face of the the don't mess with the playoff games unspoken rule. Maybe they thought keeping your own guy wasn't a big deal. Seattle did announce their hiring of a new guy on the same day as game 3 of the ALCS. It's actually at 3:19 CST and the press conference is at 3:00 CST...but they still could be done before.
  3. Game Day Audio has the Milwaukee broadcast on and I am glad it is not on TV. I didn't hear the top of the first, but the Cubs did not score. Bottom - Samardzija pitching. 2 home runs and an error by Castro put the Brewers up 4 after 1 inning.
  4. Well isn't that special...grand slam....
  5. Just forced in a run on a HBP...jersey was HBP....
  6. And now the bases are loaded with nobody out
  7. Just announced the game will start at 2:55 central
  8. Didn't see this before posting my response...
  9. Theriot just scored on a wild pitch and Fukudome advanced to second. Sorry I don't know how they got there or anything else - I am listening at work and just came back.
  10. It is on the A's broadcast on MLB gameday audio.
  11. How do you find out where you are on the list?
  12. Even Pat isn't so sure about that: "The Cubs add 2. Will it be enough. We go to the bottom of the 9th"
  13. Only been there once (2005 I think). We got infield box tickets a couple hours before the game.
  14. The trouble I have run into is "Regulars" The local places wait until after the January annoumcements to allow for their repeat customers to book, then move on to the rest of us. Thanks for the info. Guess I will get ready to search right after the January announcements. If nothing else, we can probably get a room at the "lovely" Prospect Complex in Herkimer, NY, where we stayed for the Sandberg induction! We didn't decide to go until April, so we were just glad to find any room. But I wouldn't recommend it unless there were no other options!
  15. I am already having trouble finding a room anywhere near Cooperstown.
  16. I think the ballots have to be returned before the playoffs begin.
  17. I signed up this year and am 95,000+!
  18. Most have just asked if I was okay (dumb question - no I'm not okay). A few have asked what happened to your Cubs.
  19. I do too. Not an NFL fan, so the Super Bowl means spring training is just around the corner.
  20. Yes. The Astros elimination number is 1. They are playing Atlanta, so I guess it is possible, although Atlanta has been winning a few lately. But, I don't see both the Brewers and the Mets losing out, so guess it doesn't matter.
  21. Me too. Especially when I'm like #1,000,000 on the season ticket waiting list I am "only" #95,693 on the waiting list!
  22. According to the "important dates and times" schedule on cubs.com, the drawing was done Friday. You would think 3 days was plenty of time to get the emails ready!
