The way Piniella presented it to Soriano was as an option, not a demand. It wasn't like he said "You're going to LF." and Soriano told him to stick it. It was "Will moving to LF help your hitting with not having so much to worry about?" and he said he was fine, that CF wasn't a distraction. I don't think this is an issue. What happens when Soriano gets back and Pie stays on board though? I wonder is Pie will be our starting CF and if so will Sori be in RF or LF? With Murton playing RF yesterday, I'd expect Soriano to move back to LF. Also, he's played a year there, so he's comfortable in LF. I doubt they'd move him to RF. I'd be surprised if Soriano moved to LF this year. They'd basically be shutting off Floyd from ever starting the rest of the year, and I don't think the team would be ready to do that. Floyd has played 79 games in RF before. Not since 2002 though.
