Does it seem to anybody else that the opposing team figures our hitters out as the game goes on? It just feels that there have been a bunch of games when the Cubs score a few runs early in the game then get shut down for the final 6 or 7 innings. The Cubs have had a routine of scoring early and shutting down the past few years. Not sure if it's more than just selective memory though. Duke has shut down the Cubs repeatedly, I think he figured them out long ago. It's not too hard to figure out the Cubs. Throw pitches just off the plate and they'll get themselves out.
Well, at least we have the top of the lineup coming up after a pinch hitter. Maybe this will be the game we come back... Don't get your hopes up. Don't worry, they're not.
Agreed. He's pressing way too much right now trying to make something happen with the little amount of at-bats he's getting. He looks like crap at the plate right now. Might as well send him down to get him regular at-bats. Lord knows he's not getting them now.
I'm not too worried about him yet. He's still really raw, but the tools are definitely there. He just needs to keep working on those secondary pitches.
When reading that, I don't want to make any early assumptions but...... Yeah, it's tough not to make assumptions after reading that. Maybe he was just tired and fell asleep at the wheel. Still, it's a tragedy no matter what.
