  1. I wonder what the corresponding moves are. I'd have to guess Epatt is on his way back down. Pigniatelo isn't on the 40-man, so there would have to be another 40-man move. I'm guessing Blanco hits the 60-day DL, since according to Cubs.com he's still only on the 15-day DL. Are there any prospects who haven't been put on the 40-man roster at this point? This is getting ridiculous. Yeah, it seemed like everywhere you look, Piggy was going to be the guy added after Ohman went down. Bruce said Blanco already was placed on the 60-day DL when EPatt was added to the 40-man. I missed that move, but I'll definitely take Bruce Miles' word on the matter. Yeah, I remember Bruce saying that Blanco was already on the 60-day, but cubs.com still says he's on the 15-day. I'm guessing it's an error on cubs.com. It will be interesting to see what the corresponding move will be tomorrow. Also, still wondering what Soto has to do to get called up. Even if it is to backup Kendall, there's no reason for Soto not to be up. Hill is garbage.

  3. That's awful. I thought his father had started to get better? Guess he must have taken a turn.
  4. Wow. What a worthless thread. You do know that Marshall only gave up 3 runs today to a very good Colorado offense in Coors Field, right? And bring up Jake Fox? Somehow he's better than Pie? Awful.
  5. Just mentioned it in an in-game update during the Cubs game on CSN. Apparently Lou has decided that he's going to mix and match the closer position with Dempster, Howry, and Marmol. Basically we're going to have a closer-by-committee situation now.
  6. Someone needs to tell the Cubs that this is Josh Fogg.
  7. We made Fogg throw a ton of pitches in the 1st inning and then the next 2 he's thrown like 15 combined. :x
  8. I wouldn't want to swap Podsednik for one of Gallagher's or Soto's used jock straps. Plus, that makes absolutely no sense because they would both have to pass through waivers because they're on the 40-man roster. There's no way a team wouldn't claim either of these guys.
  9. Hes not a 5th starter, hes a number 3. No he is not. He is 4th at best in this rotation. Yes, but he's paid like he's a #3 starter. That's what Keener is getting at. People say that he's a decent #5 starter for us, but he's making way more money than most 5th starters.
  10. Just stick with the lineup we had the past 2 games. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  11. Murton is quickly becoming the next Barry Bonds. :D
  12. Good move by Piniella here to take Marquis out right after hitting Baker. You could tell Marquis was shaken up after hitting him.
  13. Nice work by Marquis. We needed a solid outing from him. Also, it's great to see Jacque doing well. We can definitely use his offense.
  14. HOLY CRAP JACQUE JONES!!! What is going on?
  15. Molina with a single. 2-1 Dodgers now, 1 out and runners on 1st and 2nd for the Cards in the 9th.
  16. brewers waste a lead-off double and don't score. Still 4-4 going to the bottom of the 8th.
  17. Wow. How good has Jacque been the past week or so? He's on fire. Good to see.
  18. If all we want is a pinch runner/defensive replacement/fast guy for the OF, we have one. His name is Felix Pie. Or Epatt for that matter. There's just no point in getting Pods. He doesn't solve any of our problems.
  19. You know, the "you are all stupid" argument is generally what this board tries to prevent. Acquiring Podsednik, even if free, is redundant and pointless. Pagan is better than Podsednik defensively, and is faster. And he's already on the Cubs. And makes less money. Podsednik is still owed $800,000. Not that that's a lot of money, but still. Podsednik only brings one thing to the table and that's his ability to steal, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy so he only has 7 stolen bases on the season with 3 caught stealing. At least Pagan can hit a homerun every once in a while.
  20. Also, Scott Moore is on the 40-man roster and there's 0% chance on him making it through waivers so he could be traded to Cleveland.
  21. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I don't understand the point. What is Podsednik going to bring to this team? We need an outfielder who can hit for some power and take some walks, not a guy who can't hit and has no power.
  22. THANK GOD! Only a .5 game out. That's insane that we're only a .5 game out.
