    Cubs need to fire more than Hottovy. They need to fire everybody in the front office and start a long rebuild.

    yes, the Brewers will be contending for a world series next year. the Cubs will be mediocre. I said the Cubs should trade PCA, because it would be a waste to keep him around. Keeping him around his like having Sammy and Ryne all over again. Just waiting the career of a player.

    Brewers are going to the NLCS this year, and I think they win it all.

    that is my opinion though. I'd rather have sustained success, than just one year of winning.

    I'd still rather be the Brewers since 2011, than the Cubs since 2011.

    Brewers have a shot this November. If they don't do it this year, then maybe next year. Maybe next year means something in Milwaukee.

    I am talking about recently. I'd rather have the Brewers past success in the past 15 years vs the Cubs success in the past 15 years. The Brewers have owned the Cubs and will continuing owning the Cubs. The Brewers are also the 2nd best organization in baseball. They could beat the best organization this fall.

    they have sustained success. That is something the Cubs never have had. I'd take sustained success, rather than winning once in 108 years. Brewers have a really good chance of having one this November.

    If it makes Cubs fans feel any better, Craigers will be looking for a new job after next season. It is going to look a lot like a rebuild this time next year. Enjoy this year while you can. The Cubs also managed to waste an MVP year from PCA, just like they did with Sammy, Ryne and Andre. Also, I don't understand why they aren't more Brewers fans from Chicago. They should be the unofficial team of Chicago. They have had more success than the Cubs ever have dreamed of having. It baffles me.

    Well at this time next year, I might have my wish of a rebuild. There isn't a Theo Epstein to save them though. Sadly, Theo didn't really save the Cubs anyway. He was more of Andy McPhail.

    Ok, I get all of that. I also wasn't trying to reignite argument, so I will apologize for that. They aren't catching the Brewers, or winning a world series, that is why suggested trading away players. They aren't going to do that though. I wish they would, because I am not optimistic about next year or the year after. It doesn't matter what I think though. I know I brought up the White Sox 1997 white flag trade. I should have instead referenced the Yankees 10 years ago. We all know what happened with that. I have also said they said should trade PCA. I have only said that, because I don't want a repeat of the Sammy era. I'll try and stop dropping my thoughts though. hah. If anything I am doomer, and not a troll .

    I mean winning 90 games a year is great. They might not win 90 games this year though. They are for sure going to be worse next year though.

    Theo really wasn't that great. He promised sustained success and a player development machine. Neither really happened. The Cubs have also only won two playoff series, since winning it all 10 years ago.

    I am not a troll. I agree with everything you say. I just think this team needs to tear it down again.

    Fine, I will give them credit for that. This team is headed for mediocrity though. Why keep him on a mediocre team? You want to repeat the Sammy and Ryne era again?

    It's not though. They can't develop and don't have any top prospects. Rebuild is around the corner.

    I wish this team would be sellers, but they have turned it around. Next year at this time you could be looking at a rebuild, and that is what we should all be rooting for. 2027 will be the year to wave that white flag. Enjoy it Cubs fans, because it will only get worse from here. Also, don't be shocked if the Brewers make a big trade and win the world series. Part of me is rooting for the Brewers though, since they have a commitment to winning and they aren't owned by Tom Ricketts.

    Matt speaks the truth though. The Cubs future is pretty bleak. 2025 and 2026 are the best you will see for a while.

    well next year you will hear me hoping for a rebuild! If there is a season that is.

    They could trade him for some prospects at the deadline.... I know fans do not want to hear that. This would be the Cubs version of the White Flag trade, but it is something that needs to be done.

    sooner rather than later, this will be a rebuilding team.

    right now, yes. We don't know what will happen the rest of the season. They for sure aren't contending next year.

    well then you waste his career like Ryne Sandberg and Sammy Sosa. You will have superstar seasons on a medicore team. By the time the Cubs will be contending for the playoffs he will be gone.

    The Cubs haven't developed a position player, since Mark Grace. This one will not be any different.
