    Eh, it'd be his last outing of the season and he's already had the combination of the workload in high school and in Mesa. I don't think skipping his turn in the final game of the season is going to hurt him. I wasn't saying it would. I was just guessing at why they held him out of the game.

    How could you pass up studs like Teyo and Koren? Gotta save something for the waiver wire. Shouldn't you be signing Alex Smith right now? No, I only go for Smiths that are good. And btw, I'll give you any player you want from my team during the offseason if Stallworth has over 800 receiving yards this year. It's in print now. Holt's going to look real good next to Owens. Don't get too excited. There is a greater chance that he is going to get injured and sit out half of the games than get 800 receiving yards. Like last year when he played every game and was 32 yards short of 800? Nah, like the years before that.

    Pirates fired manager Lloyd McClendon; named bench coach Pete Mackanin interim manager for the rest of the season. It's overdue for certain, but at least this qualifies as progress. The Pirates appeared to be leaning toward bringing McClendon back at midseason, but things have gone south since June and the club has currently lost nine of 10.     I think him, Todd Hundley, and Ismael Valdez are all neck and neck for the player I would least like to have back on the Cubs (and that says something considering how bad the other players are).

    I didn't realize it was so difficult to say, "Hey, try to go to the right side with the runner on second and no outs." Seriously, nearly the entire roster has been turned over since his arrival. We know he has input with Hendry. If his players are that lacking, or that unable to learn, who's fault is it, really? Dusty needs to shut up in the worst way. What is shutting up in the worst way? You saying he needs to be whacked?
